The fight for righteousness is never-ending on this side of eternity. Christians have a definite call to righteousness and, by God’s grace, we have a helper in the Holy Spirit for this battle. Yes, it is a battle. Whether it’s a fight for truth, as seen in our first Decency Minute; a fight for righteousness and integrity within government and other organizations, as represented by our second Decency Minute; or an internal fight to keep our focus on Heaven instead of the pressing earthly troubles that surround us or the battle for increased personal holiness as evidenced by our third Decency Minute; we should be ever moving forward in the power of our Lord and for the glory of God.
The apostle Paul reminds us that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal and are victorious through God (2 Cor. 10:4); he also reminds us that our real enemies are not carnal in Ephesians 6, as he names the pieces of God’s armor which have been given to us for protection and weaponry. Spiritual warfare surrounds us; the battle is real and the stakes are high. Let us move forward in Christ’s authority as described in the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20). Let us move forward with courage and strength as Joshua was bidden to do (Josh. 1:9) and as Paul exhorted (Eph. 6:10-18). Let us move forward believing Jesus, the He would build His church and that “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (att. 16:18)
I’m reminded of an Arabian prince who had been given a new sword. One of his friends, in finding fault with the prince’s new possession, stated, “The sword is too short.” The bold prince wisely responded. “To a brave man, no sword is too short. If it be too short, take one step forward and it will be long enough.”
Our God’s hand is never short, nor does His Word ever fail. Through prayer and daily devotions of Bible reading, study, and Scriptural meditation, trust in the Lord to provide as you need; move forward!
Last week, a woman was killed while endangering, if not trying to kill, federal agents with her car.
Rather than condemn these actions, the mainstream media painted the woman as a victim, feeding into a narrative which was used to justify protests and riots around the country.
They went beyond bending facts to fit their narrative, to flat out lying.
The Washington Post said the driver was in reverse when she was shot.
PBS claimed the agent was knocked backward by the car, but not hit – what does that even mean?
The Guardian claimed she had dropped her child off to school and just happened to run across ICE agents.
None of these things were true!
She was not a victim or a martyr. She was misled by a radical ideology and paid the ultimate price for her foolishness.
We MUST fight for election integrity in Michigan!
Here in Michigan, foreign nationals are serving on juries to decide the fate of Americans. The Macomb County Clerk announced that over two hundred non-citizens were found on the county’s jury pool, just within four months. He also discovered that some of them were registered to vote and had voted.
Under Secretary of State, Jocelyn Benson, non-citizens not only can get a driver’s license, but are then automatically registered to vote – unless the applicant checks a box stating that they’re not a U.S. citizen. It’s alarming that Michigan’s state government relies on the honor system to protect elections and the judicial system from fraud.
Benson not only put this scheme in place, but as she runs for governor this year, she will be overseeing her own election!
Election integrity is a battle we must fight! Go to www.MIfairelections.org to get involved.
With potential wars and rumors of war, the threat of Islam, questionable government loyalties, health and a host of other troubles that come from life, we must remember that we are first and foremost citizens of Heaven. If we’re not careful, our attention will be drawn from the heavenly realm to the earthly, but, as Christians, we are only pilgrims here, living to the glory of our King, our God, sanctified to obedience by the Holy Spirit.
How shall we then live with such a dichotomy?
Robert Murray M’Cheyne urged, “Seek to be made holier every day; pray, strive, wrestle for the spirit, to make you like God. Be as much you can with God. I had rather be one hour with God than a thousand with the sweetest society on earth or in Heaven. All other joys are but streams; God is the fountain.”
