What: Walk for Life (Hosted by Right to Life)
When: THIS SATURDAY, January 17th, starting at 11 AM.
Where: Begins at the American Decency building (203 E. Main St., Fremont, MI 49412
Why: We love life and desire to see ALL ages and representations of life protected and stood for.
One may have hoped or thought that with the reversal of Roe v Wade legal abortion would have become a thing of the past and ALL children – within the womb and without – would be safe. Sadly, that has not been the case and we are still in the fight for life, striving to protect the most innocent and vulnerable of those image bearers of God known as babies.
With the continual advancement of technology has come new ethical questions and increasing troubles in the fight for the sanctity of life and the safety of children. In vitro fertilization (IVF) and surrogacy are two such helps for those who have difficulty getting pregnant and both of them come with ethical concerns, one of which is the commodification of children. Another issue includes an attack on the sanctity of marriage and on the family unit which God has designed as the building block of society.
Only the most willfully blind cannot see how the sanctity of life and the family unit are closely related and what that means for society. American Decency’s Finally, a Decent Podcast has recently released an amazing interview with Pam Stenzel which well describes this struggle for the family, the need for holiness, and the sanctity of life.
Here are just a few points that Pam brings out in her interview with Bill Johnson:
* You can choose. You’re responsible for your own choices and responsible for the consequences of those choices.
* It’s important to speak the same message to churched and unchurched alike. This shows respect to the person AND to the truth, as well.
* We need to recognize that our choices regarding marriage and children go beyond the immediate consequences. We must also look to the future of the individual, in their latter years. How will a lack of marriage or a lack of children affect them?
* Leadership of the father. Fathers matter. Be a man and be a leader.
* It’s important that people know what we are standing for, not just what we’re against.
* Women want manly men… godly men… men to love them like Christ loved the church
Don’t miss out on this timely interview and don’t miss out on the Walk for Life this Saturday. Here is the invitation that Right to Life put on their Facebook page, an invitation for all – even those who are unable to walk:
“With the Sanctity of Life Sunday coming up soon, Newaygo County Right to Life will be holding their annual Walk for Life on Saturday, January 17th at 11a.m. This walk will be for everyone! The march will start at American Decency Association, 203 E Main St, Fremont continuing along Main Street down to Veteran’s Park and back.
