We’ve been pointing our readers to the Hearing and Doing Conference that took place this past weekend, with messages of high impact from Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, Dave Agema, and Phil and Sherry Baynes. Not only was the Lord good to us through His Providential Hand of drawing these amazing speakers together, but our God brought out a good number of people to hear these important messages and take them back home to share with others. The Lord provided amazing venues for the events, but the attendees, with an interest and fire in their bellies, really made the difference.
Here’s a very short overview of what took place during our events, generally speaking.
Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff began our times together, bringing her flagship message: When Truth Becomes a Crime: Speech, Power, and the Politics of Enforcement. She shared her history of being a diplomat’s daughter and some of her many experiences, particularly as they were related to living in Islamic countries. One of God’s many blessings upon her life was her time spent in the United States of America, where she learned about the American Constitution and its uniqueness and freedoms as compared to other countries and with their own specified laws.
As she spoke of Islam compared to Truth and Freedom of Speech in her native Austria, she focused often on the change that took place. As Islamic influence took over, Truth and Freedom of Speech were not viewed to be as valuable as NOT disturbing the equilibrium. In other words, “the facts are okay so long as they aren’t spoken aloud, disturbing the equilibrium.”
When it came to the courts, she said that judges were no longer asking if the facts were accurate, but asked if such things needed to be said or had to be said in such a way. The justices wanted to know: “Does it add to or take away from our peace?”
As she spoke, my mind kept going back to a video I saw about 15 years ago about the spiral of silence. While I could not find the exact video I watched back then, here is a more contemporary one by Eric Metaxes which relays the same basic information. Please watch this video, Spiral of Silence, and allow your mind to see how it relates to the increasing pressure to be silent regarding Islam in our own nation. (Here’s another good video on the Spiral of Silence with Chuck Colson.)
Elisabeth’s book – Truth Was My Crime: a Life Fighting for Freedom – sold like hotcakes and can be purchased here.
This was an important event; when it is posted it should be viewed and shared numerous times. Please do your part.
Our next speaker was Dave Agema. Though no longer in the cockpit, he’s a fighter pilot through and through. He’s a Christian and an American who loves his God, loves his country, and loves to share the truth with others, regardless the cost to himself.
Dave came armed with his personal experiences as a pilot, plain and simple differences between Islam and Christianity, and a couple of short videos. All of which the Left and Islamic groups are using as a form of civilization jihad. One of the videos that he shared is one which is being shown in schools, perhaps your children or grandchildren have seen it. It shares two young boys playing soccer when the Muslim call to prayer is sounded. One of the boys tells his friend why he prays to Allah; it could be quite an “evangelism” tool aimed at non-Muslim children. The second video gave the translation of the Muslim’s prayer, speaking of jihad and killing the infidel.
We learned that Denmark is taking good steps to abolish Islam in their own country and how some congressmen are attempting to pass legislation that will help us do likewise. Pray with us that these bills will pass and that we will also take similar steps as Denmark to protect our nation.
Mr. Agema encouraged people to purchase the book Sharia Law for Non-Muslims by Dave Warner. He shared that a lot of his information regarding the difference between Islam and Christianity and/or our Constitution was found within it. If you’d like, it can be purchased here.
You won’t want to miss out on anything Dave Agema shared; be sure to keep an eye on your inbox because we will let you know when it’s ready to view online. Please share this important and timely message!
Phil and Sherry Bayne were our final scheduled speakers and their message was spectacular because it tells the story of a people who worship and serve the one true God (Jehovah) in the midst of pain and suffering brought to them by those who are serving a god of hate, Allah.
There’s no doubt that Phil is an exciting story-teller who grabs one’s attention with large statements and picturesque words, skillfully using inflection and gestures; there’s no denying Sherry’s emotional tie to the Nigerian believers or that she has a heart filled to the brim and overflowing with compassion for them; but it’s the Spirit of God which moves through the brokenness of the Nigerians with love that brings the impactful message of Phil and Sherry Bayne.
The videos, the pictures, the accounts that were shared by the Baynes at these events, showing the persecution of the Nigerians and their love for God, each other, and their tormentors was nothing short of astounding. I wondered, how many of us, if brought to such hurt one day, would be able to show such love, such wonderous love like Christ showed and the Nigerians show.
One point that Phil made often was this: The Muslims aren’t coming after you; you’re okay. But what about your children and grandchildren after you? Are you training them to be ready? Are you preparing them for what’s to come?
Dear Reader, that’s what this event is really all about. We must do what we can to bring a halt to this evil. We must pray hard, for this is spiritual warfare. But we must also make our children aware and ready; we must bring them to Christ in a very real way. The Nigerians are able to praise God in a precious way regardless the circumstances they face; are we?
Hero of the faith, Eric Liddell, wisely urged, “Victory over the circumstances of life comes not by might, nor by power, but by a practical confidence in God and by allowing His Spirit to dwell in our hearts…Learn in the days of ease and comfort, so that when the days of hardship come, you will be fully prepared.”
This was an important event because it shouted the warning clear like a watchman on the wall. It pointed to some of the things we can do in making others aware. But mostly, it showed how to live even if things don’t go the way we hope and pray they do – BE FAITHFUL to God and LOVE your enemies.
