Founding father Samuel Adams once said, “The Man who is not resolved to encounter and overcome Difficulties when the Liberty of his Country is threatened no more deserves the Character of Patriot.” That’s a powerful quote for the day in which we live, considering the many “Difficulties” which threaten America’s liberty. Patriotism is all fine and well, but, as a Christian, I have an even higher calling to overcome the difficulties that threaten the Liberty of my country. I am called to be a soldier of the cross; the Apostle Paul charges believers to “stand having done all to stand in the evil day.” To name only a few of the evils which are attacking our precious Liberty today: abortion, socialism/communism, Islam.
The following film addresses the first two of these blights on Western civilization AND gives us the answer for being “resolved to encounter and overcome” all three (and more) of these evils.

This is an amazing and unique opportunity afforded to West Michigan by American Decency and The White Rose Resistance. Following the film’s showing, a representative from White Rose Resistance will also be here to take part in a short panel discussion. The Last Stand defines our times like no other and places an urgency before us to not throw up our hands in despair, but to put our hands to work for the Kingdom of Christ as the church has readily done in the past. We must leave our seats of apathetic comfort, remember that spiritual warfare abounds, and that we are called to be soldiers of the cross. We need to get comfortable with being uncomfortable and with paying a price.
In this documentary, Seth Gruber takes us through secular history and church history, showing us that “if we remember who we are, the spirit of the age doesn’t stand a chance.” On the other hand, if we don’t step into our God-ordained role of standing in righteousness and being the beacon of holiness that God has called us to be, we will continue to follow “exactly the same pattern as the French Revolution… and the decadent final days of Rome.” Let us come to the realization that, as GK Chesterton put it, “Because we’ve freed ourselves from Christianity, we’ve actually freed ourselves from freedom.” I pray that it’s not too late; will the American church reclaim her place of steadfast responsibility in history? Will we remember that as we fulfill the Great Commission Christ has promised to be with us, even to the end of the age?
The importance of this film cannot be better summarized that how American Decency’s president and founder Bill Johnson put it: “There’s an urgency in this film that, if not recognized, will result in the continued spiritual darkness of our nation and the generations of those who will come after us.”
Join us Monday, October 12 at 1:00 pm or 6:30 pm at the American Decency building for this definitive film that is sure to encourage and urge you to stand! Be sure to invite friends and family; this is a film that would do us all good to see and to put into action!
