Cowbirds and the MAMDANI ACT

What do cowbirds and Texas U.S. Rep. Chip Roy’s bill the MAMDANI Act have in common? Read on!

Growing up in the country, walking through the woods, fields, and climbing trees gave me plenty of opportunities for watching birds, listening to their calls, and it piqued my interest in learning more about my “fine feathered friends.”

In my opinion, one of the strangest birds I learned about was the brown-headed cowbird, North America’s most common brood parasite. What makes this bird so interesting is that the cowbird doesn’t build its own nest and neither does it take responsibility for providing for its own young.

They perch in the early morning where they can scope out a large area. When they spy a bird building a nest, the female cowbird will follow the unsuspecting builder to its nest and on one of the following mornings, it will sneak into the nest, lay an egg, and be gone before sunrise. Most birds won’t recognize the strange egg, those that do are often unable to push the heavy egg out. (The female cowbird will sometimes produce more than three dozen eggs in a summer – finding a foster parent for each one.) The baby cowbirds hatch earlier than the host’s own eggs, thereby eating sooner, growing faster, and getting more from its foster parents. The nestling cowbird will sometimes throw the host’s eggs out of the nest, or, after its foster siblings are hatched, will smother some of them in the bottom of the nest. In a very real sense, they take over a nest that was never meant for them.

Perhaps, someone is asking, “Steve, why the bird lesson?” To this I answer, it’s not just a bird lesson; it’s a lesson on what’s happening in our own nation and a spiritual application for each of us to personally take to heart.

Nationally, America needs to wake up to the invasive “cowbirds” that are infiltrating our cities, states, and governments, both local and national. I’m not denigrating these image-bearers of God; I’m simply pointing out the similarities in their actions as they’ve taken over most of Europe and are attempting to overtake the greatest free nation of the Western world, our beloved America.

Though I’m largely talking about the Islamists as they are committing various forms of jihad (including civilizational and economic – think of all the welfare and other government assistance programs they are using and abusing), but also the Chinese communists, Marxists, and others that are attacking our nation, its security, and manipulating our educational institutions and entertainment industries to their benefit and promotion.

A few months ago I shared: “During a recent Rubin Report, a video clip was shown of an Islamic imam speaking to a congregation with great pride about global Islamic expansion and infiltration (hijra). He also proclaimed that Zohran Mamdani is part of a larger planned takeover of western societies by Islamic leaders and these growing Muslim populations.

“In addressing the Islamic population of the U.S., this imam said that their ‘greatest weakness is our percentage in this country. We are very disadvantaged in this country. By the way, it’s only in this country.’”

“In early 2026, the city swore in a new all-Muslim, all-male City Council and Mayor Adam Alharbi. Elected positions, from mayor to council, city manager, and even the police chief, are now held by Muslim men. Nearly all candidates in recent races were Muslim, with campaign materials often in Arabic. Public meetings feature residents addressing officials in Arabic… Hamtramck is no longer an American city in any meaningful sense. Certainly, only the most willfully blind will refuse to see that this is a real problem. One which, if left unchecked, will affect not only the freedom of our nation, but our children on several levels, including spiritually.

U.S. Rep Chip Roy (R-TX) has been doing his best to put a check on these problems. Most recently, he has introduced the MAMDANI Act which stands for: Measures Against Marxism’s Dangerous Adherents and Noxious Islamists. He asks, “Why do we continue to import people who hate us? Not just for the last six years, but for the last 60 years, our immigration system has been cynically used to disadvantage American workers’ competitiveness in favor of mass-importing the Third World. This has not just led to higher crime and lower wages, but also the promulgation of hostile ideologies fundamentally opposed to American values.”

The purpose of this bill is “To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to limit alien eligibility for admission and naturalization and enable deportation and denaturalization for any membership, affiliation, or advocacy of socialist, communist, Chinese communist, Marxist, or Islamic fundamentalist doctrines, and for other purposes.”

According to this bill, anyone who is a member of a socialist party, a communist party, the Chinese Communist Party, or Islamic fundamentalist party, or advocates for socialism, communism, Marxism, or Islamic fundamentalism would be denied entry into the United States and would also be denied U.S. citizenship. In other words, “NO cowbirds allowed.”

Why does Rep. Roy feel so strongly about this? “America is facing a threat that directly attacks our Constitution and our Western values: the spread of Sharia law. From Texas to every state in this constitutional republic, instances of Sharia adherents masquerading as ‘refugees’ – and in many cases, sleeper cells connected to terrorist organizations – are threatening the American way of life.”

A bill that is meant to protect our nation, its government, its cities, its institutions, its churches, its people, its future generations, its freedom and liberties, its health and this list is not exhaustive, should be supported by freedom-loving citizens and our elected representatives. We strongly encourage you to urge your elected representatives to support U.S. Rep. Chip Roy’s MAMDANI Act.

 Spiritually speaking, be careful of others dropping their eggs (thoughts, beliefs, etc.) in the nest of your mind. If you allow them to hatch, they grow and takeover. Social media, entertainment, political pundits, friends and strangers are all willing to deposit their eggs into the nest of your mind; run everything through the precious and powerful word of God. Be like the Bereans and ask daily: What does the Bible say about that?

Second Timothy 3:16-17 gives it to us straight. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
