As we move closer and closer to the midterms, more and more of the nation’s focus is on our home state of Michigan. Not only are we a swing state, but we have the largest concentration of Muslims in the nation and are positioned to potentially elect the country’s first Muslim senator.
Suddenly, Islamic beliefs and ideologies are important political issues – and the more one knows about Islam, the more concern there is about electing a Senator El-Sayed.

Michigan voters are being duped by Abdul El-Sayed. They fall for his socialist promises, but ignore his dangerous ties to radical Islam and terrorist organizations.
One man who recognizes that El-Sayed is a wolf in sheep’s clothing is Kamal Saleem. Kamal himself was once aligned with a terrorist group, before God drew him to faith in Christ. As a Christian, Kamal now warns about the threat of Islam and candidates like El-Sayed – while also witnessing to Muslims so that they, too, can find salvation through Christ.

My organization, the American Decency Association, has been a proponent of modesty in dress for over four decades. The message has often not been popular, which makes it all the more rewarding when even someone with whom we have very little in common like the foul-mouthed comedian Shane Gillis recognizes the severity of the issue.
On Saturday Night Live, Gillis – one of the most popular entertainers in the world – called out the blatant provocativeness of modern gym fashion.
While Gillis’ observations drew laughs from the studio audience and the affirmation of many commentators, Gillis’ remarks landed him in the same hot water with many women my organization has grown familiar with over the years.
Gillis’ observations are a good reminder: even if most are too scared to say it, we all know it’s true. Modesty demands respect, flaunting one’s physique invites ridicule.
