The Constitution of the United States of America is not simply the law of the land; it is meant as a foundation to protect and ensure our rights and liberties as well as to provide a firm basis upon which our nation and its people could move forward to greater individual freedoms. Two key clauses are found in its Preamble; they point to the necessity of having a fair legal system based upon the rule of law and thereby provide a means of maintaining peace, order, and stability within and among these United States. These are the first two of five objectives found within the 52-word introduction which defines the purpose of this amazing document, given to us by God and our founders, in order “to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.” (The fifth and final of the Preamble’s objectives.)
We will either move forward or slide backward; it seems as though there is no standing still. It happens slowly, yet surely. When we do not move forward in freedom, propelling ourselves with assurance on a firm foundation, loss is bound to come little by little.
As we embrace people groups who do not embrace or assimilate to these objectives and laws; as those in our nation advance and cling to ideologies that run contrary to the purpose of our Constitution (Islamic law and Communism as two such examples); as our courts move from enforcing the law to re-interpreting the law and at times usurping the role of our legislatures; as the legislative or executive branches make unconstitutional laws or executive orders which fly in the face of the five objectives found within our Constitution’s Preamble; justice is no longer established, domestic tranquility becomes chaos and strife, and the “Blessings of Liberty” are no longer secure for “ourselves and our Posterity.”
Each of our Decency Minute (DM) scripts, narrated by Bill Johnson, detail areas of slippage which come from not moving forward and embracing a firm and established foundation. May we prayerfully read them, acknowledging our sin as a nation and confessing, where necessary, our dullness of heart and spirit or silence in the face of opposition. May we resolve to walk in the words of Solomon:
“Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” (Prov. 4:25-27)
Our first DM script longs for justice; how many times have we seen lawlessness prevail over justice in recent years? Justice has been long established within our nation; we have good laws. But when those laws are not enforced, we invite further and worse infractions of righteousness. We will either move forward in justice or we will experience injustice. When that is the case, liberty gives way to tyranny. We see how this has worked against “domestic tranquility” as well.
The establishment of religion is the topic of our second DM script. Yuval Noah Harari, in his speech at Davos, would have us to believe that religion is nothing more than words, therefore AI could establish a new religion. Jehovah – the one true God – not only commands to be loved with all that we are, but He has called us to keep (guard) His Words so that we would faithfully walk in them, not legalistically, but in love. Words like love, mercy, justice, grace, and the like, are not merely words; they are life. The organized church was established IN CHRIST, when His people do not move forward, growing IN Him, there is slippage. We must live out our freedom and grace in Jesus to not be deceived.
Sadly, our third DM script shows what happens when established voting procedures and righteousness are not enforced as a standard to follow. Toxic empathy and feelings should never outweigh facts and justice. When justice is denied to push an agenda, we all lose in the end. Why has voting integrity been such an issue? Why has transparency been so obfuscated? Why would we allow non-citizens to have a say in how citizens are to live or how their freedoms are to be curtailed? Because agendas are being pushed and we’ve either been ignorant of the law and liberties guaranteed by our Constitution or we’ve been too lazy to walk and grow in them.
To be established with a good foundation isn’t enough; we must walk forward on secure and established ground, propelling ourselves forward in freedom. No one can do that for us; Americans had long been known for initiative, ingenuity, and individual independence. We must get back to the basics of our Constitution and our relationship with God through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
For the past several weeks, organized protestors have been interfering with federal agents attempting to arrest violent, foreign criminals in Minneapolis.
The government officers have had no help from local police, even as their hotels have been attacked, their cars damaged, and their weapons stolen.
In the resulting chaos, two of the trained, violent, so-called protestors have been killed by the officers they’ve worked so hard to make feel threatened.
All their efforts paid off.
Harried law enforcement officers whose lives are in danger, whether from a belligerent behind the wheel of a car or from a hostile protestor revealing they have a concealed firearm – have to gamble with how much risk they’re willing to take.
The leaders of cities and states refusing to help federal agents keep the peace while violent, illegal aliens are taken off the street have blood on their hands.
May justice be done.
Seven years ago, Yuval Noah Harari warned of a “digital dictatorship” that could hack individual brains. This year, he gave a very disturbing speech in which he declared that AI is able to think better than many of us and that it is also able to lie and manipulate better than humans.
Harari predicted that “anything made of words will be taken over by AI,” and that includes religion. He claims we shouldn’t be surprised if AI were to come up with a new religion with its own priests and missionaries that gains the faith of millions. “That should not sound too far-fetched … almost all previous religions in history have claimed that they were created by a non-human intelligence.”
We’ve seen steps in that direction, but remember Jehovah’s words through the prophet Isaiah, “beside me there is no god.”
The reason the Left fights so hard to stop the deportation of illegals is to gain electoral power. The last census padded the numbers by counting illegal aliens, which gave Democrats 12 more Congressional seats.
Not only are illegals counted, but many are voting. It’s no surprise that the corrupt state of Minnesota also tops the list for voter fraud. In Minnesota, one registered voter can “vouch” for up to eight unidentified people who can then vote without proving citizenship.
That’s why Senator Rick Scott is fighting for the passage of the SAVE Act, which would require proof of citizenship to vote. If Democrats oppose the SAVE Act, it’s because they’re benefiting from the fraud.
