When H. M. Stanley went to Africa in 1871 to find and report on David Livingstone, he spent several months in the missionary’s company, carefully observing the man and his work. Livingstone never spoke to Stanley about spiritual matters, but Livingstone’s loving and patient compassion for the African people was beyond Stanley’s comprehension. He could not understand how the missionary could have such love for and patience with the backward, pagan people among whom he had so long ministered. Livingstone literally spent himself in untiring service for those whom he had no reason to love except for Christ’s sake. Stanley wrote in his journal, “When I saw that unwearied patience, that unflagging zeal, and those enlightened sons of Africa, I became a Christian at his side, though he never spoke to me one word.”
I remember as a child reading about the above missionary, David Livingstone, and his work in Africa. Though America has many churches, Bibles, sermons, Christian podcasts, books, and the like available to us, we have largely become – at the very least we are quickly becoming – a pagan, anti-Christian culture. Yes, there are still vestiges of Christianity scrawled across monuments and there are churches who still proclaim the truth of salvation. There are many “good” and caring people, some who are full of compassion and others who have a misguided “sense of compassion” throughout these United States; there are many who shout the truth against the encroaching darkness; but where are those, like Livingstone, who have “such love for and patience with the backward, pagan people among whom” we have so long lived? Are we willing to lovingly come alongside and compassionately speak the truth in love with those who are deceived by the god of this world?
There are three such examples of opportunity to be found in our Decency Minutes this week.
In our first Decency Minute we read about pagan thought regarding transgenderism. I remember seeing Matt Walsh speak with an African tribe in his film What is a Woman?. These “pagan” people were more enlightened about gender than some from America’s government, medical profession, “churches,” educational institutions, entertainers, and the list goes on. How do we who hold the truth use it? Do we stand in disgust or do we genuinely care for the deceived and the lost? It’s vital that we take stands to protect our wives, daughters, and granddaughters, but do we speak patiently, in love, with the individual when opportunity arises?
Our second Decency Minute deals with another very troubling situation, one that will affect every man, woman, and child. It’s not so much about one candidate; it’s about what he stands for and what we see happening across these United States of America. It’s more than a cultural issue, more than a religious issue; it’s a matter of the fall of the USA or a revival of our founding principles, founding beliefs, and founding religion. God raised this nation up for the purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world – a light to the nations as it were. It’s a truth that freedom is freedom’s own worst enemy; we’ve allowed the left to erode and undermine our foundations. Yet, we are given an opportunity to be a contemporary David Livingstone; will we with “unwearied patience” and “unflagging zeal” act, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ or will we simply react in fear and fighting. I am not proposing that we do nothing but share the Gospel; we have a responsibility to use every legal means and to stand on our Constitutional rights and to vote rightly while informing others of the dangers not only on the horizon, but in many real ways already here. We are watchmen on the wall, but we are also soldiers of the cross.
Our third Decency Minute also deals with paganistic ideology; socialism is also a danger to every man, woman, and child. Like the Islamists, socialists and communists are coming after our children. It’s our responsibility to share the truth with our children and their friends in love. We must be careful of the words we use and the tone in which we speak. Urgency, yes, but also caring, compassion, and a love for those who are deceived.
As we step into the world and into our churches this weekend, may we realize the importance of real love, compassion, and truth – all these in Christlike action. Stanley could not understand how missionary Livingstone “could have such love for and patience with the backward, pagan people among whom he had so long ministered,” yet it had a profound affect on him. Might we try to follow Livingstone as he followed Christ; it will make a difference – in others, in ourselves, and in our nation.
The WNBA is learning a valuable lesson.
You can’t support women and support men playing women’s sports even if the men call themselves women.
Former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom is teaching the WNBA this lesson – by calling himself a woman and the WNBA’s top prospect.
He intends to challenge the WNBA’s vague rules which only allow women to be drafted, but neglect to define whether or not that includes so called “trans-women.”
Last week, he showed up to a WNBA game and wearing a shirt which gave the definition of a woman: “an adult human female.”
He was confronted by one of the players on the court and subsequently kicked out of the game.
Yet Kanter’s towering figure made obvious the reason that the women’s league could never allow even a gender-confused man to play. He would literally crush the competition.
Men must be kept out of women’s sports.
Abdul El-Sayed is a personification of the Red-Green Axis – an alliance between Marxists and Islamists.
As El-Sayed seeks to become the first Muslim senator, Michigan voters need to know his radical ideology. He conveniently claims to be a capitalist, but his goals are in lockstep with socialism. El-Sayed has pushed for defunding police, opening the borders, abolishing ICE, and eliminating the Second Amendment. He’s advocated for communistic government control of industry and socialized medicine.
But what’s even more troubling are El-Sayed’s ties to terrorist organizations and sympathizers. He has also proclaimed his “obligation” to follow Sharia law. Sharia is a political system which Islamists seek to implement in order to overthrow Western civilization and usurp the U.S. Constitution.
A candidate with allegiance to Sharia must not be elected to the U.S. Senate. We in Michigan must do our part to educate our fellow voters.

It’s an alternative means of infiltration, since Congress began restricting the Confucius Institutes in 2021.
Young Envoys is monitored by the China Education Association for International Exchange. Its Chinese website states that it’s guided by “Marxism-Leninism” and Xi Jinping thought on socialism, and they “always adhere to the leadership of the Party and integrate the Party’s work into the entire process of the association’s operation and development.”
What’s the price of a child’s mind? Some of these schools are being paid millions of dollars to allow CCP propaganda to infiltrate and corrupt America’s greatest resource – our children!
