Thank YOU: We love the Lord and seek to perform our duties to the glory of God, and rest in the fact that He will use them for His glory and our good. It is only the grace of God and your partnership through giving as the Lord leads that allows us to keep our focus on our ministry of warning, educating, and exhorting all to holiness. As we head into this critical time, will you help strengthen us for another year of serving in His name? Your year-end support would be deeply appreciated and an encouragement that you are with us. Yesterday was Christmas and many of us likely gathered with family: continuing our festive traditions; making new memories and reminiscing over past ones; enjoying goodies, company, and presents that were chosen with care. Others of us might be missing loved ones or be suffering over tragic events which came unexpectedly to our door this year. (There were many homes in Northern Michigan which caught fire this past Sunday; I can only imagine what their Christmas was like.)
Regardless our Christmas circumstances, there is one gift that we, as Americans, have and shouldn’t take for granted. We have the freedom to openly celebrate the true meaning of Christmas!
In recent months, we’ve become well-informed of the plight which endangers Christians around the world at the hand of Muslims – for example, Nigeria and Syria. However, in China, the CCP went full force to make mass arrests of Christians days before Christmas.
The Washington Stand reports: “Starting on December 13, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) mobilized ‘more than a thousand police officers, SWAT units, anti-riot forces, and firefighters’ in the Zhejiang Province’s Yayang Town in Wenzhou City, raiding churches and conducting mass arrests of Christians, ChinaAid reported Friday.
“Belongings of relevant individuals were illegally confiscated, roads leading to the church were completely blocked by police, and Christians in Yayang Town were unable to enter the Yayang church. The operation lasted nearly five days, yet no public statement was issued by officials,” the outlet noted. “Within just the first two days, several hundreds of people were taken away for questioning. On December 16 and 17, at least four more individuals were detained.” I URGE you to read the remainder of the Washington Stand’s article to learn what other evils the CCP is committing against our fellow believers and against our Christ.
Ironically, these dear brothers and sisters in the Lord are unable to celebrate Christmas with their families and their churches because of Christmas. Because Christmas is the celebration of God’s love in sending Christ to the world, “that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” and these have received the gift of Jesus, they are unable to celebrate Christmas with others. Although nothing stops them, or us, from celebrating God’s precious gift of salvation each and every day – including Christmas day!
Let us praise God for His grace in sending salvation down to man. Let us thank God for the freedom we have to celebrate Christmas openly and privately without repercussion in America. Finally, pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ, as the apostle Paul exhorts: “Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.” (Heb. 13:3)
Here we not only see whom to pray for, but also how we should pray for them – “as bound with them”!
This week’s Decency Minutes all, in some way, focus on the freedoms we have as Americans to serve the Lord openly, including where we spend our money and lend our support. I encourage you to praise the Lord and to pray accordingly as you read through each one.
American Decency Association: A light in the darkness
As we look back at 2025, we ought to reflect on answered prayers. Thanks be to God for declines in DEI and transgender ideologies, for secured borders, and advocacy for persecuted Christians under the new administration.
Amidst the struggles and tragedies, ADA aimed to be a light in darkness.
We launched “Finally: a Decent Podcast” with now over 20 episodes. We celebrated our 40th anniversary with a memorable special event with some of our readers and listeners.
We also hosted the Right to Life march, film screenings, the National Day of Prayer, and several talks by authors and presenters. We continued to produce daily email alerts, Decency Minutes, YouTube shorts, monthly Frontline newsletters, postcard campaigns, and church bulletin inserts—all from a Christian perspective to warn and encourage godly living.

Would You Consider Helping ADA?
Here at American Decency, it’s a privilege to serve in the calling God has given us – promoting Biblical Truth in a culture that desperately needs it. We’ve had some victories along the way. There have also been defeats. Yet we continue on with faithfulness and perseverance.
However, we couldn’t do what we do without faithful supporters who empower our work.
I’m sure you’re aware – as we are – that there will be many battles in the coming year. However, our staff remains steadfast. We love the Lord and seek to be salt and light in this sin-darkened world – to the glory of God.
As we prepare for another year of standing for Truth – both here in West Michigan and across the nation – will you please consider empowering us for the work ahead?

Chick-Fil-A’s Henpecked Customers
Six years ago, many of us were shocked to hear that Chick-fil-A, who long promoted themselves as a Christian company, bowed to LGBT pressure by no longer giving to the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, but supported Covenant House, a group that hosts Drag Queen Story Hours.
Today, the chickens are still coming home to roost, as one Chick-fil-A franchise in Utah recently celebrated the “marriage” of two men on its Facebook page. Instead of corporate stepping in to protect what’s left of their Christian image, they responded by doubling down with DEI: “Chick-fil-A, Inc. is committed to being Better at Together by embedding Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) in everything we do.”
Those who embrace traditional and Biblical values must think first, before feeding this corporate chicken who continues to peck the hands that feed it.
