3 in 3 for 2/23/24

By: Steve Huston

Our weekly 3 in 3 email is an opportunity for you to read the scripts that our staff has written for the Decency Minute radio spots that play on American Family Radio and other venues. It’s also an opportunity to hear Bill Johnson, president of American Decency Association, narrate them by clicking on the script titles. We’d appreciate it if you helped us spread the word by either forwarding this email to others who might have an interest or by directing them to our website: www.AmericanDecency.org.

I recently read in a devotional booklet, Beside the Still Waters, about Bruce Beach, a man who started building an underground bunker in Ontario, Canada in 1979. It was called “Ark Two” and “was a nuclear fallout shelter of 10,000 square feet, covered with 14 feet of dirt. It was continually stocked with food, fresh water, and diesel fuel, and it included a septic system, a radio for communication across North America, and enough beds to host 500 people. The entire compound was secured by a massive concrete door, the only thing visible to the outside world.

Fear is what caused Mr. Beach to build and maintain this underground shelter for forty years, until he died from a heart attack in May 2021. He dedicated his time, effort, and resources to that which, in the end, did him no good. Now, in eternity, he has nothing to show for all that he had done.

The news of our day, particularly these Decency Minutes, may cause us grave concern as we consider world or national catastrophes, pandemics, or invasions. Most of our readers wouldn’t have the resources to build such an extravagant fort of protection, nor would I suggest doing so. If you have well-founded concerns, which we do regarding the news of our day, store up some food and water, put your trust in the Lord, and share His gospel and your resources with others.

From Venezuelan Prisons to Michigan Homes?

In 2022, DHS confirmed that Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro was emptying Venezuelan prisons and sending violent criminals to our southern border.

Now, as gang members, criminals, and potential terrorists take advantage of Biden’s open border, Governor Whitmer is urging Michigan citizens to take illegal immigrants into their homes. Those who do so must make a 90-day commitment to the illegal migrants they take in. With no way of verifying the identity or possible criminal history of many illegals, Michiganders are being asked to take in unvetted migrants – reportedly from Venezuela, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Cuba.

Democrats who swore an oath to protect the nation from foreign threats, are willfully putting Americans at risk.

We should hold our elected officials accountable and strive to elect those who will secure our border.  However, our hope is not in man.  Put your trust in God who is our rock and fortress.

Why Doesn’t Our Constitution Work for Us?

A common theme on the presidential campaign trail goes something like this: “The American people know what’s right, and I trust them to make the right choice in the ballot box this November.”

But the American people do not know what’s right. And so, we shouldn’t at all be surprised that our form of government has been co-opted. After all, as John Adams, the author of the Massachusetts Constitution, which was the model for the United States Constitution, famously said, “Our country is made for a moral and religious people. IT IS WHOLLY INADEQUATE TO THE GOVERNANCE OF ANY OTHER.”

So many in the generation currently entering adulthood have no idea of the basics of family life or of church community or of self-governance, or even how to be the sex God created them to be.

If we want to be governed by our Constitution, what we need is to make America moral again.

Hungry for Hungary’s Immigration Policy

The United States’ southern border is now more like a funnel than the porous sieve we were concerned about, inviting foreign enemies to take up residence and wait for the right time to attack. From within, we’ve empowered LGBTQ activists, putting our children, military, and culture at risk. The current administration not only supports these endangering efforts, but strongly opposes any who take the common-sense approach of protection.

In stark contrast, the Prime Minister of Hungary is taking a firm stand against these two globalist agendas, even though the European Union is withholding funds from his country for doing so.

In response, Hungary’s PM declared, “Hungary cannot be blackmailed! There is not enough money in the world to force us to accept mass migration and to put our children in the hands of LGBTQ activists.

America, your leadership is not seeking wisdom from above. 2 Chronicles 7:14 – PRAY!

Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Be sure to read the whole of this chapter.

I Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Philippians 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
