Your Support at Work in 2023

By: Bill Johnson

As we draw near to the end of each year, we like to look back and remind ourselves and our supporters of all we’ve undertaken together in the last twelve months. It is always a blessing to see how the Lord has carried us through.

Our event calendar kicked off in February with former Michigan gubernatorial candidate and election integrity expert Patrick Colbeck bringing us an update on his research into the vulnerability of our election systems and recounting his own experiences and observances of fraud in the 2020 election in Detroit.

In March, we hosted an intimate gathering of folks interested in Biblical investing featuring our friend Brent Jackson of Harvest Financial, a representative of the Timothy Plan where Bill serves on the board of trustees.

Then, in May, we hosted and organized the annual National Day of Prayer event for the Fremont area, where we joined in prayer with many of our organization’s close friends, including Kamal Saleem by way of virtual meeting.

Just a few days later, we welcomed Pastor Matt Trewhella whose message on the “Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrate” resounded with his audience in our auditorium the year before in the midst of vaccine mandates and Canada’s trucker protest. This year, he brought encouraging examples of local municipalities around the country employing the Doctrine by interposing between state overreach and their constituents.

Our final May event was hosting a Newaygo County Grassroots presentation of the movie, “Anecdotals,” which shared the stories of individuals impacted by the Covid vaccine, followed by presentations by Dr. Christine Parks PhD and Dr. Sandra Blanchard MD.

In September, we brought author and speaker Stephen Black, a former homosexual whose life was radically changed by the grace of God, to several area locations. Stephen also was the featured speaker at our fellowship breakfast where we enjoyed spending time with our ministry’s local friends and supporters.

In October, we showed the documentary, “The Real Story of January 6,” which showed how the liberal federal government has crafted a narrative of terrorism which has targeted truly innocent, patriotic protestors.

Finally, in November, we showed documentaries on back-to-back weekends – “No Farmers, No Food: Will You Eat the Bugs?” and “Police State.” The first exposed how world leaders have conspired together to kill the agriculture industry as we know it in the name of “green” policy. The second movie is a documentary by Dinesh D’Souza which tells how federal law enforcement has become a tool of leftist, totalitarian idealogues.

Those paragraphs represent a busy year, but those are just the events!

Our organization, particularly Bill, was also involved in many counseling and communication situations, including rebuking an area mega-church when it brought in proponents of so-called “gay Christianity,” helping another Michigan resident prepare to confront her library about inappropriate materials they were making available, attending our own local school board meetings as they considered allowing “transgender” students to use their bathroom of choice, and meeting with school board members individually as well the superintendent. We also reached out to a constitutional lawyer to explain the school board’s options. Bill traveled to Calumet to speak and promote the ministry of the ADA. He also assisted in the promoting of and attended a “Liberty Pastors” week-long event in Plymouth, Michigan, which built up and encouraged pastors to be salt and light in the political arena. Bill has maintained a relationship with our local state representative, Joseph Fox, as he has been a Christian witness and influence in Lansing. Bill has also conversed with our county supervisor and clerk, encouraging them to maintain local election integrity.

Along with our events and communication campaigns, we’ve also urged our readers on in several important state, local, and national matters of importance: local drag shows, the national story taking place in our backyard which is the Chinese battery plant trying to build in Big Rapids, the ongoing battle against radical abortion policies in Michigan by way of the “Reproductive Health Act,” observance of “Pornography Awareness Month” in October, and reminding our supporters to pray and urge Congress to select a truly conservative speaker – a prayer which appears to have been answered.

When you give to the American Decency Association, these are the efforts which you are empowering and supporting, and that’s not to mention our multiple weekly email alerts, our monthly newsletters and bulletin inserts, and weekly Decency Minutes that are aired on AFR and several other radio stations around the country which – we hope and pray – always point through the darkness to the hope we have in Christ.

You are also supporting a staff of individuals who minister outside of the ADA in youth ministry, teaching Sunday School, preaching, evangelism, serving on boards of other ministries and organizations, serving as precinct delegates, and more as well as, of course, ministering to our own families – and we are so grateful to all of you who make all of this possible.

We thank the Lord for you, we thank you for every battle we’ve been able to engage in, and we wish you a blessed 2024!
