“If God calls you, He will provide!”

In these days before the new year, while I have a little extra time to think ahead and remember back, it is a blessing to recall seeing firsthand how God has worked and is working. These experiences strengthen us to trust that He will be with us going forward into the uncertainties of 2024 and beyond.

An old truth comes to mind: “If God calls you, He will provide.”   Along with experiencing the hand of God faithfully is His faithfulness in making His presence known in so many other ways, including words of affirmation and the gracious generosity of our supporters.

Sometimes God has used affliction to remind us of His care – days and weeks where giving support has waned; where the evidences of societal decline have been heartrending and filled with treachery and wickedness; times where I have spoken or we’ve had an event or two where the numbers attending were discouraging.

So often at those times, in a daily devotional reading when my heart is hanging low, God pours out His personal reminder.

The living word is on the way from the living God, and though it may seem to linger, it is not in reality doing so.  God’s train is not behind time.  It is only a matter of patience, and we shall soon see for ourselves the faithfulness of the Lord.  No promise of his will be lost in silence, ‘it shall speak.’  [Charles Spurgeon, Cheque Book of the Bank of Faith, November 3]

Many of you are so much a part of our ministry life, strengthening us through gift, support, prayer, encouragement, and help – in season and out of season!

I feel led to speak into reasons why I believe that supporting our ministry is a worthy ministry to stand with and stand behind.

We are a ministry that has long-term evidence of God’s calling and blessing upon us.  Each one of our staff is a committed, sincere, faithful Christian.  In these years of growing spiritual warfare, our ministry team is united in and under Christ. The same can be said of our ADA board that has met quarterly since our inception in 1987. God is using ADA as a voice “crying in the wilderness” as we prayerfully bring issues before you that shed light on the trends that attack, diminish, and undermine the Christian family and our Biblical standards. Our staff gathers together every workday morning to discuss the issues facing us and to daily seek that His will be done in us and through us.

The speakers that we have brought in and, by God’s grace, will continue to bring before you and others are strong in messaging into some of the most contested issues facing us:  Trevor Loudon, Phil Haney, Stephen Black, Frank Gaffney, Michael Perkins, Kevin Freeman, Steve Coughlin, Dr Christina Parks, Tammy Clark, Jim Simpson, Kamal Saleem, Pam Stenzel, Curtis Bowers, Don Wildmon, Dr. Joel Beeke and local pastors bringing Biblical application at particular junctions along the way.

The films that we show are often hard-hit; bringing warning, encouragement, spiritual enrichment, and enjoyment and blessing for families.

Amidst the various ministries that many of you may support, I believe that the American Decency Association’s ministry is unique in the way that we seek to faithfully exhort and encourage Christians to understand the times, seek God’s face, and put our hope in Him. We seek to awaken Christian consciences to humility, asking God to give us the mind of Christ in our everyday life.

In conclusion, I would like to make this appeal as well as share two prayer requests. If you have appreciated our ministry’s perspective and influence, please consider making a financial contribution. We are in the fight only by way of our supporters’ generosity and the grace of God. We hope to continue for many years our ministry of pointing through the darkness of our times to the hope for our nation and world that can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Whether you feel led to support us or not, please pray for ADA’s year-end financial strengthening.  This past year we had five months where numbers of gifts were significantly down and therefore gift totals were weaker than usual.  Thankfully, there were several more typical months of giving that kept us from dropping into a more alarming financial status.  Please pray that God raises up many who will find it in their hearts to give generously to ADA as this year ends.  With trouble afoot in our land, God uses us to warn, exhort, and encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ of the concerning trends.  We anticipate that there will be more serious travails than ever before.  More may be weakened and not be able to give as they once did.  Pray for them, too.

Lastly, please pray for me as the leader of this ministry, that God will enable me to wisely guide the efforts of our staff and to support them as graciously and generously as possible so that they will be able to fulfill their duties and passions for their families and churches, especially with the inflationary trends of our day.

The staff and board of the American Decency Association wish you a truly joyful Christmas season – a joy emanating from the celebration of Christ’s birth.

“A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!”
