Alternative to Scholastic

By: Steve Huston

I’m a homeschool dad and have been for many years; there’s a reason for that. While I’m thankful that our founders desired public education for our nation’s citizens and I thank God that there are still some Christian teachers who desire to make a difference in the lives of their students, I’m extremely disgusted with what is now being taught expressly through its curriculum and more subtly through libraries and book fairs. It’s great that so many parents are waking up and finding their voices, showing up to school board meetings, and becoming active in what’s taking place in their public libraries. With the massive amounts of Marxism which is purposefully being pushed and the immorality that is being heralded as both normal and must be accepted, we’re still left scratching our heads and asking, “Is there anything else I can do?” “Where can we find a book company that believes ‘book fairs should not contain hidden, explicit content targeted for kids’?” Dear Reader, you’ll be happy to know that one exists. Keep reading!

With so many celebrities, either through fear of being de-platformed or love of filthy lucre, kowtowing the party line and lending their weight to these immoral troubles, it’s a blessing to have one well-known celebrity take a stand for conservative values, godly influence, and a love for our flailing country.

Kirk Cameron has been busy for the cause of Christ and in protecting the hearts and minds of America’s children.

He’s partnered with Brave Books, a book publisher that promotes and teaches traditional, pro-American values, meant to develop godly morality in children.

He took on the Marxist public libraries with his See You At the Library movement as an alternative to their drag queen story hours. This exposed their true agenda (if anyone ever had any doubt) as many of these public libraries which held drag queen story hour refused to allow Kirk and others equal opportunity for good, wholesome, or patriotic books.

Now, Kirk is taking aim at taking down a long-standing organization that is nearly synonymous with public school literacy. This book club once had a trusted name, one with which many children, parents, and even grandparents are familiar.

You likely know to what I am referring, but I’m going to let Kirk tell you in his own words:

Ever wonder how all the sexually explicit, morally disgusting, and dangerous books get into our children’s schools, classrooms, and libraries? SkyTree Fairs and I did a deep dive and discovered who the real wolf in Grandma’s clothing is. We see you Scholastic!

Scholastic, a near-monopoly entity on school book fair programs across the United States, publishes books aimed at the detriment of our children and, as such, our nation. They publish books with explicit language which children should not use, inappropriate images which children should not see, and gender transitioning which can serve to sexualize our children’s thinking early on. These are only a few of the concerns presented nationwide through Scholastic. Click here to learn more about the disgusting and immoral content offered by Scholastic.

We are quick to see troubles, but often we wonder, “What can I do?”

Kirk Cameron is helping to launch an ambitious new project as an advisory board member of SkyTree Book Fairs, a non-profit organization. This is meant (quoting Brave Books) “To give parents and schools a healthy, wholesome alternative to Scholastic…Already, more than 600 public and private schools have expressed interest in a non-sexualized children’s book alternative to the popular school fundraisers.

This is what Kirk Cameron is doing. What can you do? What can I do?

* We can donate to SkyTree Book Fairs here.

* We can hold a book fair.

* We can pass the word along, letting friends, family, your church, and local schools (public, Christian, and private) know that “SkyTree Fairs is providing schools, parents, and children with an empowering alternative with literature rooted in truth and family values.Share far and wide that there is a healthy alternative to Scholastic!

One librarian from Detroit, Michigan states, “What a relief to have a book fair where I don’t have to screen every book for questionable content. SkyTree makes it super easy.”

A final word from Kirk Cameron: “Since my journey across the country providing more wholesome children’s content in public libraries, I’ve realized that there’s more work to be done. Partnering with SkyTree gives me the opportunity to make a positive impact within our hurting educational system. Let’s build up a strong and healthy generation inspired by wholesome reading.
