In case you missed last Friday’s email alert, Lisa Van Houten urged our readers to contact their senators after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to protect the SCOTUS redefining of marriage. Many Republicans betrayed their base and their platform in this preemptive strike against the possibility of SCOTUS overturning their unconstitutional Obergefell decision. The Senate is likely to move quickly on this bill, “(Dis)Respect for Marriage Act,” and would only need ten Republicans to betray their base to get the needed votes to pass this bill and send it to the desk of the Oval Office where Mr. Biden would, unquestionably, sign it into law. In this article, I would like to mention our other speakers who are like the sons of Issachar, understanding the times and knowing what to do about them.

To meet the current troubles we face with only temporal solutions will, at best, kick the can down the road, and not very far at that. This is why we have included several local pastors who are strong handlers of the Word of God. It is His Word, His TRUTH, which must truly educate, stir, and lead us to action. It is the Bible and its divine Author from which we derive our authority, strength, vision, and mission.

We believe that A.W. Tozer’s words well describe these men of God: “We languish for men who feel themselves expendable in the warfare of the soul, who cannot be frightened by threats of death because they have already died to the allurements of this world. Such men will be free from compulsions that control weaker men. They will not be forced to do things by the squeeze of circumstances; their only compulsion will come from within – or above. This kind of freedom is necessary if we are to have prophets in our pulpits again instead of mascots.”

Our prayer is that God would raise up America again, that He would shed His grace on us once more, that we would be saved from the horrors of communism which has destroyed so many in so many places throughout so many periods of time. Nevertheless, His will be done. And if His will is for America, at this time, to fall victim to the “god of this world,” then we pray that during this conference God would move upon the hearts and minds of those attendees; that they would become men and women who are “free from compulsions that control weaker men.” It is this deeper and truer freedom which continues and abounds regardless of persecution, bonds, and death, for which we really long.

Help us spread the word about these important and timely events. Be sure to join us and bring others too. Most importantly, pray for these events and each of our speakers. May each of us diligently meet our God-given responsibilities in His sovereign will.
