God’s Not Dead: We the People

By: Steve Huston

The American Decency Association (203 E. Main Street, Fremont, MI) is showing the latest installment of the God’s Not Dead movies THIS Thursday (October 6) at 7 PM. Get a sneak peek by watching the trailer, then share it with others!

God’s Not Dead: We the People develops a storyline that hits a little too close to home for many conservatives who are awake to what is going on around them. It shows how government elites neglect the fact that they work for us; instead, pushing an agenda all their own which runs contrary to the good of the nation, while usurping our rights of self-governance and religious liberty in order to bring their nefarious plans to fruition.

At one point a prominent politician says to the pastor who has come to D.C. in order to speak to a congressional committee, “Your God, your book, they’re in the way.” Later in the movie this same pastor speaks up saying, “That’s part of your plan, isn’t it? To keep us all divided so we don’t realize you’re really chipping away at our freedoms and liberties.”

With the erosion of our freedoms and rights, this movie points to the truth that Benjamin Franklin gave at the signing of the Declaration of Independence, “We must all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.

Though not brought out in this film, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that it IS important to stand for our rights, but NOT for our rights’ sake or even for our own sake. In all that we do, whether we eat or drink or stand for our rights, we do all for the glory of God.

Let me explain. The Apostle Paul stood on the rights of his Roman citizenship to further the cause of the Kingdom of God, to rightfully walk in his heavenly citizenship that he might promote his heavenly King, Jesus Christ. At one point we’re told that Paul could have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar (Acts 26:32). It was not for his own sake or the sake of his rights that he claimed those rights, it was for the glory of God. It was in order to bring the gospel to Caesar and his household, regardless of what consequences might befall Paul personally. THAT is why we should be concerned about our rights and know how to use them properly. It is so God will be glorified and Jesus magnified, as we walk in the power of and follow after the leading of the Holy Spirit.

This film also shows many of our national monuments, buildings, and statues, recognizing that they point to the principles of self-governance and a federal government that was set up of the people, for the people, by the people. That might also appeal to some who would come with you to watch this movie.

Join us THIS Thursday (October 6) at 7 PM at the American Decency building (203 E. Main Street, Fremont, MI) to watch God’s Not Dead: We the People. Bring friends and family; let others know of this opportunity.
