At lightning speed, the first three weeks of the Trump administration have been focused on restoring truth and commonsense, following the Age of Insanity that we endured during the last administration.
As the character, Winston, in Orwell’s 1984 was forced to deny truth and affirm that 2+2= 5, after being tortured by The Party for resisting what they determine to be true – for the last four years Americans have been pressured to pretend that men, despite their DNA and genitalia, can be women. Leftists wielding the levers of power have attempted to force us to affirm this delusion in the workplace, in schools, in locker rooms, public restrooms, women’s shelters, and girls’ and women’s sports – and some of those who resisted this assault upon truth lost their jobs; lost medals and college scholarships; and even lost their children.
Thankfully, President Trump is putting an end to this ideological tyranny. As he stated in his inaugural address, “As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male and female.”
Trump chose last Wednesday, National Girls and Women in Sports Day, to sign an executive order banning men and boys from competing in women’s and girls’ sports. With this order, schools that allow male athletes to compete in female sports will lose federal funding. In recent years, female athletes have been forced to compete and share locker rooms with musclebound, Adam’s-apple-protruding, stubbly men who have horrifically injured numerous girls; stolen thousands of medals and college scholarships; and destroyed the dreams and aspirations of young women. As he signed the order Trump stated: “From now on women’s sports will be for only women.” Adding, “We will not allow men to beat up, injure, and cheat our women and our girls. My administration will not stand by and watch men beat and batter female athletes.”
In a heartwarming clip, President Trump signed the order surrounded by girls and female athletes, including swimmer Riley Gaines, who fearlessly blazed the trail in pushing back against this transgender insanity in women’s sports. Riley, a 12-time NCAA All-American swimmer, objected after having to compete and share a locker room with William Thomas, who ranked 462nd among male swimmers before pretending to be a woman and “transitioning” to “Lia.” Riley Gaines endured threats and physical violence from pro-transgender leftists, yet she’s continued to speak out against this injustice.
In Sunday School we teach children the song, “Dare to be a Daniel, dare to stand alone, dare to have a purpose firm and dare to make it known,” but how many of us dare to stand alone in defense of Biblical truth and in the face of opposition, as Riley Gaines has done?
At the signing ceremony, President Trump thanked and praised Riley Gaines, “describing her as the brave swimmer at the forefront of this battle,” adding: “Riley was a 12-time All-American who sacrificed countless hours in the pool just for a chance at the title. It was so important to her, she just gave everything she had. But then the league forced her to share a spot on the podium with a male swimmer who took her trophy while the media celebrated this stolen glory.”
Speaking after the ceremony, Riley Gaines stated: “What we saw today is in total contrast to the treatment that we as women have received for the past four years. For three years, the Biden administration stonewalled women across the country. Not even just stonewalled us, he actively worked against us. So, to now have a president who displayed such moral clarity, and leadership with this decisive action… I’m just overwhelmed with gratitude. Just every day since January 20, I’ve been thanking God for having mercy, mercy that we certainly don’t deserve.”
Even more important than banning men from women’s sports, Trump has also displayed moral clarity by banning transgender medical procedures for minors with the signing of his executive order entitled, “Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation.” President Trump stated: “Today, it was my great honor to sign an Executive Order banning the chemical castration and medical mutilation of innocent children in the United States of America. Our Nation will no longer fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support so-called ‘gender- affirming care,’ which has already ruined far too many precious lives. My Order directs Agencies to use every available means to cut off Federal financial participation in institutions which seek to provide these barbaric medical procedures, that should have never been allowed to take place!”
In addition to prohibiting institutions and hospitals which receive federal funds from prescribing puberty blockers, cross-gender hormones, or surgical gender mutilation for those under 19, transgender procedures will also be excluded from federal health insurance and Medicare/Medicaid coverage. The order also directs the Attorney General to take legal action against “any entity that may be misleading the public about long-term side effects of chemical and surgical mutilation” and to also take legal action against “so-called sanctuary States that facilitate stripping custody from parents” who refuse to allow their children to receive transgender hormones and procedures.
These actions by President Trump are not just a victory for female athletes, parents’ rights, and all of us impacted by the Left which has attempted to compel our affirmation of a lie; it’s a victory for Biblical Truth. These executive orders recognize that we are created in God’s image, male and female.
To God be the Glory for using President Trump to elevate that truth which is implanted in every heart.
As theologian Albert Mohler stated: “With an astounding comprehensiveness, President Trump is driving the reality of male and female, and that means the reality, as Christians understand, of creation order through federal policies. … the big Christian worldview point we need to recognize is not just that God made human beings in His image, male and female created He, them – that is essential – but all of creation order is essential. And when you look at the rejection or the subversion of male and female as objective truth, as biological reality, as stable categories, you are subverting creation order itself.”
Praise God that we’re seeing the unraveling of the “T,” but “LGB” ideology is still firmly entrenched in our culture – as is the ultimate denial of created order that every life is created by God and must be protected. We need continued moral clarity to push back against these continued assaults on Truth.
May God raise up a generation of Christians who will “dare to have a purpose firm and dare to make it known.”
