In early 2020, as Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer began to earn her reputation as one of the most tyrannical governors in her response to Covid-19, thousands of Michigan citizens found their champion in a new organization: Stand Up Michigan. What started as a Facebook group where members could share their experiences and concerns became a movement where citizens devoted to liberty stood together against the state’s authoritarian overreach.
Bill’s guest on episode 4 of Finally: a Decent Podcast is the president of Stand Up Michigan, Ron Armstrong. Ron is the former mayor of Newaygo, Michigan where he helped orchestrate the revitalization of its historic downtown area. He is also the owner of a business in Newaygo, Armstrong Displays.
In this episode, Ron shares how he came to be a leader in the conservative movement in Michigan, how Governor Whitmer works harder to help China’s businesses than Michigan’s, and what the future of conservative activism must look like.
