John Llewellyn was our state representative in the early 90s when the local Gerber Baby Food factory sold out to Europe. From there, he went on to be chief of staff to Governor John Engler during Detroit’s collapse, a lobbyist for Michigan banks in the midst of the ’08 housing crisis, and a mentor to incoming state representatives after term limits were introduced in Michigan.
John has had a unique vantage point to the tumultuous changes brought about by globalization and technological advance, yet through it all, he has maintained the down-to-earth perspective of the orchardist and farmer he started out as and continues to be to this day.
