Election Integrity: SOS

By: Steve Huston

While we are so grateful for God’s mercy and grace regarding the election last November and the way that President Trump is stepping quickly and decisively to bring common sense back to our nation and its government, we need to continually press forward with election integrity and transparency. After all, in future elections making it “too big to rig” might become too impossible, now that the Left knows what to expect and knowing the various legislative traps they’ve laid. On top of that, we saw down ballot candidates fall victim to questionable election outcomes. For an in-depth look at election integrity and what we need to do now, I would strongly encourage you to watch a recent interview with Patrick Colbeck and Jovan Hutton Pulitzer on “X” entitled Election Integrity – Past, Present, & Future – Can It Be Saved?

At one point in the interview, Jovan talked about the increase in public awareness and public knowledge regarding election integrity, but, setting those things aside, asked, “Is there any one piece of this – for four years of fighting and all the hundred plus million dollars spent – that’s moved the ball to fix any of this (election integrity)?”

I was quite surprised by Patrick’s response: “I would submit that in many cases, it’s actually gotten worse. In my home state of Michigan, for example, poll challengers are effectively outlawed here… They’re completely brazen now and out in the open about their fraud. We had a secretary of state, Joselyn Benson, who actually bribed a Michigan Supreme Court justice in a lawsuit that was before her court. She actually gave her $82,500 while she was a defendant in an active court case before the Michigan Supreme Court, and the justice that received the donation for her reelection actually wrote the majority opinion that overturned previously unanimous decisions against Benson… They’re getting brazen and from that standpoint it makes it … a lot easier to go off and start prosecuting these people and holding them accountable. So, in a weird way, the fact that we’ve gotten our butts kicked on the execution front, I think in some ways, has actually helped us right now that we’ve got a federal prosecution pathway open to us now, that wasn’t there the last four years. That gives me hope that we’ve got some doors opening.

You won’t want to miss the rest of what Patrick Colbeck has to say regarding election integrity, the Michigan Supreme Court, and the efforts put forth by Mike Lindell and others – with plans for the future – regarding our elections. But, for the sake of this article, let me share a few more things he had to say about Michigan’s Secretary of State Benson.

Our secretary of state’s been found in violation of the law by seven separate courts, but no accountability.

In Michigan, I think we caught our secretary of state with her hand in the cookie jar in this 2024 election, because we show that there were a lot of people who were voting and voting more than once, some people as many as 29 times.

With all the above in mind, it’s difficult to hear that Democrat Secretary of State Benson has put her bid in for governor of Michigan, since the current Democrat governor, Gretchen Whitmer, is terming out. She claims that if she becomes governor in 2026 her focus will be on “efficiency and transparency” in state government.

Gov. Whitmer had promised to do the same but has not worked with lawmakers to expand government transparency. Bridge Michigan reports: “In 2019, Whitmer called on the Legislature to expand the state’s Freedom of Information Act by making herself and lawmakers subject to public records requests. Legislation has repeatedly stalled, and Whitmer backed off a separate campaign promise to voluntarily open her own office if lawmakers didn’t act.

We’ve witnessed the efficiency of Ms. Benson toward a Leftist agenda which would keep Democrats in power and seen how efficient she is at escaping consequence and accountability for the numerous times she’s acted unconstitutionally (illegally). Transparency wouldn’t exactly be Pat Colbeck’s description of Secretary of State Benson as poll challengers have become “illegal” and Michigan’s election integrity is rife with challenges.

Perhaps the biggest red flag is Ms. Benson NOT stepping down from her position of secretary of state. How can Michigan voters trust that our elections are fair when the one responsible for overseeing our elections is the Democrats’ hand-picked candidate for Governor? Are elections fair and free under SoS Benson when Patrick Colbeck writes: “It is quite possible that ‘meddling kids’ (my term for election integrity activists) prevented MI SoS Jocelyn Benson from casting 125,428 illegal votes and turning Michigan’s electoral votes blue in the 2024 general election.” Pat’s article on letsfixstuff.org continues, giving supporting evidence to this strong assertion.

Should Benson be able to “win” this election, becoming Michigan’s next governor, let’s see what else is in store for the Great Lakes State:

Michigan Advance writes:

Benson said she chose to launch her campaign today because it is the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, which she said serves as a ‘reminder of rights that we have lost over the last several years and rights we’ve got to continue fighting for to make real for every one of our residents.’

The secretary of state said that if Trump asked her to have the Michigan State Police aid in rounding up illegal residents in the state, she would likely decline the request.

“‘The bottom line is if someone is trying to wrongly rob our citizens and our residents of their rights and freedoms, I’ll be there to stand in the way.’

The bottom line is this: We can thank the Lord that the presidential election was “too big to rig” and that God showed His mercy and grace upon this nation. However, there is still a lot of work to do and we mustn’t sit on our laurels. Election integrity is still a big problem nationally and statewide; we cannot put things off. We must do what we can, bringing wrong-doers to justice and securing election integrity. Righteousness and freedom depend on it!
