3 in 3 for 6-6-25

By: Steve Huston

Each of us make hundreds of choices every day: if or what to eat; what clothes to wear; where I shop and which brands do I buy when shopping; what to read, watch, or do; how much time do I spend on my phone, social media, texting, do I answer that unknown number, etc. Even more important questions: When and how do I discipline my children/grandchildren; what information do I trust; do I and how do I interact with those strangers (and those I know) that aren’t following God’s Word as the standard to live by? Granted, some of these decisions are made unconsciously because of past choices, but perhaps we ought to revisit them time and again. Two decisions are imperative and immediate: 1) What have you done with Jesus? 2) If you’re a believer, are you sharing your faith in Christ? (More on this at the end of this email.)

This week’s Decency Minutes (Thank you, Bill Johnson, for your painstaking efforts in narrating them.) remind us of the many choices we need to make as new technologies and counter-culture warriors break in upon our every day lives. A few of the many questions we might ask regarding our first Decency Minute and other burgeoning technologies are: Are these new technologies safe for me? Are they ethical? What might be some of the unintentional consequences and collateral damages for me and society regarding these technologies? Should I fully support them immediately or should I put on my thinking cap, grab my Bible, pray, and do some research?

Our last two Decency Minutes beg similar questions for Christian believers and conservatives: How does the blatant infiltration and wide-spread acceptance of the LGBT+ sinful lifestyle affect our communities, churches, and the children/young adults living in such communities? Do I believe that the promotion of aberrant and ungodly lifestyles is a danger to our nation, communities, and those living such a society? If not, have I researched history and the Bible regarding these things? If so, what are my actions in response to the individuals caught up in this satanic deception and the companies which are attacking our nation, children, family, and God in their promotion of the LGBT+ PRIDE culture? Are my actions, words, and responses truly loving and full of grace and truth – as the Bible directs us? What of those in my family who may be caught up in this or other sinful actions – am I making exceptions or do I continue to believe that God says what He means and means what He says? Am I really praying (and fasting) over these matters, both familial and national? How can I better reach out with the Gospel, showing love and compassion for their souls and still take a stand on Truth? Have I considered the costs to myself and others in both standing and in remaining silent?

Of course, all these questions only scratch the surface; there are many more to ask, consider, and answer.

I’ll close out this introduction with a couple of statements I recently read: “There are times when we are in a perplexing dilemma, not knowing which choice is best. When we are well-read in Scripture and prayerfully seeking to do God’s will, we will find the answer…We must always remember that although we can freely choose as we please, we will face judgment for our choices.

Are we tireless in pursuing right choices so we are ready for Christ’s return, or do we choose to focus on perishable things of this world?

Thank you for choosing to read our emails and for your support in prayer, encouragement, and/or financially. We hope you’ll pass our emails along to others and/or have conversations about the topics we make available through our email alerts, Decency Minutes, podcasts, and events.

Where’s the Beef?

How many of you remember the grumpy, old lady from the Wendy’s commercial who asked that now iconic question: “Where’s the Beef?”

In recent years, it’s not the size of the burger this question addresses; it’s about the “burger” itself. Whether one is referring to Burger King’s vegetarian whopper, containing no beef, or all the lab grown meat which is being pushed upon the public, the question has changed to “What IS beef?”

Republican Governor Greg Gianforte has joined four other states in signing a bill into law banning the manufacturing and sale of all lab-grown meat, stating “So-called ‘lab-grown meat’ has no place in Montana. By signing HB 401 into law, I am proud to defend our way of life and the hardworking Montana ranchers who produce the best beef in the world.

As men interfere with God’s design, we must be diligent in questioning its wisdom.

Fifth Third Bank’s Interest – Pride Propaganda

A return to commonsense is raining on Pride parades across the nation as corporations withdraw, or at least scale back, their support.

Corporate America is pulling back from Pride month sponsorships because people like you have stood firm and refused to submit to ideological coercion.

Yet, other corporations are failing to read the room, ignoring the fact that the majority of Americans are fed up with LGBT indoctrination.

One of those companies is Fifth Third Bank, which was one of the earliest corporations to jump on the LGBT band wagon.

Your voice is still needed. Join us in calling on Fifth Third Bank to stick to banking, instead of pushing Pride Month propaganda.  If you bank with Fifth Third, consider closing your account and express your concern by calling Fifth Third headquarters at: 1-800-972-3030.

Pride is Going to Fall, Will These Companies Fall with It?

Last year we noticed corporate Pride Month participation was down. This year it’s almost hard to find.

Pride parades have reported loss of sponsorships, including from Visa, Mastercard, Nissan, and Pepsi.

Many brands who faithfully released Pride collections for years are also following the trend and ignoring the degrading celebration.

Many, but not all. An LGBT news site recently released a list of the major brands still releasing Pride collections under what they call “Trump’s attacks on corporate DEI initiatives.”

The familiar companies they highlight, who are holding on until Pride’s last gasp, include Levi’s, Converse, Walt Disney World, MAC cosmetics,  Apple, Puma, Jansport, and Target.

Besides these companies, Pride’s strongest supporters outside their own community is probably Major League Baseball, with the Texas Rangers being the only team not hosting a Pride night!

May these companies and their customers be brought to an understanding that Pride is going to fall, and they do not want to fall with it.

One of the most important choices you’ll make as a Christian is: “Will I share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others?” Below are a few quotes which show us how important it was to regarded Christians of yesteryear:

If you have no wish to bring others to heaven, you are not going there yourself.” ~ C.H. Spurgeon

While women weep, I’ll fight; while children go hungry, I’ll fight; while men go to prison, in and out, in and out, I’ll fight; while there is a drunkard left, while there is a poor lost girl upon the streets, while there remains one dark soul without the light of God, I’ll fight – I’ll fight to the very end!” ~ William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army

If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.” ~ C.H. Spurgeon, speaking in the same tone and manner as William Booth, above

You have nothing to do but to save souls. Therefore, spend and be spent in this work. And go not only to those that need you, but to those that need you most. It is not your business to preach so many times, and to take care of this or that society; but to save as many souls as you can; to bring as many sinners as you possibly can to repentance.” ~ John Wesley

Note: John Wesley was not insinuating that men, themselves, save souls. Rather, he was speaking to the importance of us doing our part in spreading the Gospel, leaving the results up to God. As Paul said in Romans 10:14, “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”
