3 in 3 for 5-16-25

By: Steve Huston

The illustrative story is told of a mountain climber who spent many years in preparation to conquer a mountain he was desperate to climb. Wanting all the glory for himself, he decided to make the arduous climb alone. As the day wore on, he decided to forego camping and continue his trek into the night. Night fell with great heaviness at a very high altitude. It was pitch black, the moon and stars were blocked by clouds; visibility was zero.

At about 100 meters from the top, he slipped and fell. Falling rapidly through the thick darkness, he felt a terrible sensation of being sucked in by gravity. Downward he continued; during those anguishing moments, good memories and bad flooded his mind. He thought certainly he would die, but then he felt a jolt that almost tore him in half.

Yes, like any good mountain climber, he had staked himself with a long rope tied to his waist. In those moments of stillness, suspended in the air he had no other choice but to shout, “HELP ME GOD; HELP ME!” All of a sudden, he heard a deep voice from heaven, “What do you want me to do?”

“Save me,” pleaded the man.

“Do you REALLY think that I can save you?”

“Of course, my God.”

“Then cut the rope that is holding you up.”

There was another moment of silence and stillness. The man just held tighter to the rope. The rescue team says that the next day they found a frozen mountain climber hanging strongly to a rope – two feet off a protruding ledge.

Like the mountain climber in this made-up story, America has been in a free-fall. There are many memories from our past both good and evil. There are both good and lamentable happenings which surround us; let us take care to not be lulled into apathetic slumber.

America’s hope and safety does not lie in men, policies, forms of government, nor in economic stability or our allies. Even as the rope was a good thing to hold on to, those things may be good, but there is only one place of true safety: “cutting the rope” – walking, climbing, waiting, and trusting in obedience to God and His Word. It’s by God’s grace that we will be saved, but we are also called to “Awake to righteousness, and sin not…” (I Cor. 15:34)

The following Decency Minutes narrated by Bill Johnson are more than mere “ropes” that will hang or save, they are more than simply “ledges” to rest upon or stay off from; they are reminders to call upon the one, true God for our nation’s sake and our family’s sake. Our hope and help is truly in Him and it must be for His glory.

Pride Month Waning

Next month is the first so-called “Pride Month” under the new Trump administration which has targeted the woke, DEI policies which were a hallmark under Biden and which saw even the Navy Seals honoring LGBTQ individuals on their social media pages.

This year, things will be a little different. Not only has the Trump administration purposefully uprooted the departments which prioritized this ideology, but the corporate world has cooled towards the popularization of sexual deviance as well.

Last year Blackrock, the world’s largest investment firm, backed away from its push for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in its investment priorities, and we saw some of the most notoriously rainbow clad companies neglect to push for “Pride.”

This year, NBC News is reporting that annual Pride celebrations are already running way behind on fundraising sponsorships.

Perhaps, Lord willing, the Pride movement has reached its peak.

May it be so!

Where is America headed?

The trajectory for American Christianity appears tragic!

According to George Barna, the percentage of US adults who identify as Christian has decreased from 72% in 2020 to 66% today.

But it’s even more disturbing when one considers that the Bible reveals who God is, what truth is, and yet, “only 18% consistently look to the Bible to determine spiritual and moral truth.

What other factors weigh into the equation of American minds when deciding what truth is?

Of the eight total factors, number one is one’s own feelings and personal emotions.

But what does the Bible – God’s revelation of truth – say about this?

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.” (Proverbs 3:5-7)

The only bad immigrant according to Democrats

We’ve finally found an immigrant the left doesn’t like.  Democrats were happy when ten million unvetted illegals stormed the border.  Yet when President Trump granted refugee status to a tiny group of 59 farmers from South Africa, the left lost their collective mind – because this oppressed group happened to be white.

These families are fleeing South Africa where the government not only is seizing their property without compensation, but has also turned a blind eye to the brutal murder of many white farmers and calls for their genocide.

Apartheid in South Africa was abhorrent, but terrorizing people because of what their ancestors did is equally contemptible.

God created one race – the human race.  It’s only through the sin of mankind that people are judged or valued based on the level of melanin in the body. Discrimination – whether against blacks or whites – is always a sin.
