Are YOU a terrorist?

I remember, as a child, watching Sesame Street; they often had a game, with a catchy tune, called “One of These Things.” The viewer was shown four objects and asked to identify which one of those four things “just doesn’t belong.” Let’s try it, shall we?

Al Qaeda.

Hamas.

American citizen with a pro-life license plate.

ISIS.

“One of these things is not like the other. One of these things just doesn’t belong. Can you tell which thing is not like the other, before I finish my song?”

It’s likely that most of our readers and a large percentage of the United States (even from the Left) would correctly choose “American citizen with a pro-life license plate.” However, according to U.S. Army training, THEY ALL BELONG. That’s right, our soldiers are being taught that even a pro-life license plate indicates that the driver is a terrorist.

The ACLJ (American Center for Law & Justice) recently reports: “Shocking recent reports have revealed that the U.S. Department of Defense, under Commander-in-Chief Biden, is effectively training American troops to view pro-life organizations – and everyday pro-life Americans – as equal to Islamic terrorists.” DON’T MISS THIS:  the DoD isn’t simply labeling them as extremist organizations (which would still be ridiculous), but are identifying pro-life people and organizations as TERRORISTS and TERRORIST organizations!

This report includes a slide (shown on X – formerly Twitter – 7/10/2024) depicting various pro-life groups as terrorist organizations and unbelievable verbiage. In part, it reads: “An anti-terrorism brief was held on Fort Liberty (Bragg) today where they listed several Pro-Life organizations as ‘terrorist organizations.’

“The slide you see here followed right after a slide about ISIS, a terror group in the Middle East.  

“The organizations labeled by the army as terror organizations include National Right to Life and Operation Rescue.

“They also included a screenshot of a license plate with ‘IM4IT,’ which is a plate many Pro-Life citizens put on their car which implies normal citizens are terrorists if they display this plate.”

The ACLJ filed a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request, “demanding all information regarding this offensive so-called anti-terrorism briefing that labeled pro-life advocates as terrorists.” In response, they received a statement from Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth, stating that the slide used equating pro-life organizations to terrorists has been used “for at least the last seven years.”

It’s one thing to be called out by the political Left, being accused of being extremists or even “domestic terrorists,” it’s quite another to know that your military is being trained to assess you as a terrorist on the same level as Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Qaeda, or Isis. It’s incredibly disgusting that the DoD has been training our American soldiers to view pro-life Americans as terrorists. It’s a form of “othering” and sub-humanizing American citizens – citizens our military is supposed to protect. Instead, soldiers are being trained to and given the mindset that it’s acceptable to put nearly half of American citizens into their crosshairs because they don’t agree with the Left’s agenda of death.

I’m grateful that Republicans wrote a very strong letter, demanding answers on this Fort Liberty training that labeled pro-life organizations as terrorist groups, calling it “truly shocking for an organization that insists on treating everyone with “dignity and respect.”

They stated that “the Army is utilizing an overly broad policy to police the speech of conservative servicemembers, quiet dissent, and require servicemembers who believe in conservative ideals to hide their identities for fear of retaliation from their commands.”

The letter warns: “Young soldiers trained to treat certain state-issued license plates as a terrorist threat heightens the risk that they will be involved in a needlessly confrontational situation with otherwise permissible drivers accessing Fort Liberty.”

Also: “It is crucial that our military maintains political neutrality and respect for diverse viewpoints within the bounds of the law. Regardless of any base commanders’ concern for protests from potential groups, the idea that such protected constitutional activities by lawful organizations qualifies them as terrorists is absurd. We urge the Army to immediately issue a correction to all servicemembers who received this briefing, to implement rules to ensure officials do not make similar claims in the Army’s name in the future, and to discipline those individuals responsible for spreading such false and divisive claims.”

I’m also grateful that Secretary Wormuth has assured Congress that this slide will no longer be used in training, but, as with so many other things the Left has attempted, the damage has already been done – for AT LEAST seven years! Also, who’s to say that a different and possibly even more nefarious slide won’t be inserted at a later time?

The few things we do know are: Jesus rules and His followers will be persecuted in numerous ways, yet follow Jesus we must. The institutions of our American society – indeed, throughout the world – are being trained and driven to reject Biblical principles and to sub-humanize conservatives, and Christians specifically. In the end it will be worth it all, so focus on Jesus, Who is Truth. “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:17-18) They may be able to separate us from much – nearly everything – but they will NEVER EVER separate us from the love of God.

So, trust in the Lord as you: gird your loins about with truth; stay steadfast; remain faithful; receive the crown of life given to those who will endure.
