“Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” (Psalm 150:1, 2, 6)
Regardless of how truth has been twisted, denied, attacked, and persecuted, our duty as creatures who have breath is to praise the Lord! No matter the consequences that may one day belong to us for speaking truth and shouting praise to the One true God or magnifying the name of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, stand fast in truth and be constant in praise.
A.A. Willitts encouraged: “Get into the habit of looking for the silver lining of the cloud, and, when you have found it, continue to look at it, rather than at the leaden gray in the middle. It will help you over many hard places.” There will likely be times for each of us where the only silver lining we may see is the promise of Romans 8:28. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
When those hard times come, rest in the truth of God’s promises which are better than any silver lining, stand fast, lift your eyes to heaven, be comforted with your faith-filled shouts of praise to our sovereign Lord, and rest in the hope of our risen Saviour! Hallelujah! He reigns!
Read or listen to Bill Johnson narrate the Decency Minute scripts below. Fear not, but rest, being assured of all God’s promises. Pray for strength for the days ahead.
In 2020, Americans were not allowed to express doubts about the narratives being pushed by federal agencies and their cable news and big tech lackeys. Numerous social media accounts – including, most shockingly, President Trump’s, were deemed unacceptable by the platforms ostensibly created for the free exchange of ideas.
As independent journalists revealed in the “Twitter Files” months after Elon Musk granted them access, much of that treatment was at the behest of government agencies.
And now, four years later, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg is revealing that his company experienced the same pressure.
Interestingly enough, the White House Director of Digital Strategy who was leaning on tech companies to silence the Americans who were saying things they didn’t like, Rob Flaherty, is now Kamala Harris’ campaign manager.
The Democrat candidate’s campaign is literally being managed by a censor who’s tried to limit speech and keep Americans in the dark. These are, indeed, dark days in America.
The ever-changing “new normal”: Most seem to accept it on an intellectual level without giving much thought to what the “OLD normal” becomes and what that means for those of us who were once “normal.”
One Federalist author spells it out well: “Things we all considered normal 10 years ago, such as having a family or going to church, are suddenly reviled as ‘extreme’ or ‘weird.’ Time Magazine even wrote that flying the American flag was a ‘threat.’”
He continues later: “The abnormal, once relegated to the fringes, use their newfound power to chase normality out of all systems and institutions, actively seeking to eradicate any reminders of their aberrational existence.”
Christian, our “normal” doesn’t change. It’s the standard of holiness as described by the Bible and exampled in Jesus. What’s that mean for us? “All that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
Democrat VP nominee, Tim Walz, has claimed, “There’s no guarantee to free speech on misinformation or hate speech …”
Yet, if the First Amendment doesn’t protect so-called hate speech and misinformation, then it doesn’t protect free speech. And, of course, what’s labeled “misinformation” and “hate” is typically an opinion that the Left doesn’t like.
Last week, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg admitted that the Biden-Harris administration has coerced Facebook to censor content that the government deems “misinformation” – including humor and satire. Government-approved speech is not free speech.
The loss of freedom in nations such as Great Britain – where citizens are increasingly jailed for posting an opinion online which the government doesn’t like – begs the question: How long until Americans are jailed for exercising their First Amendment rights? Under a Harris-Walz administration, we may soon find out.
