3 in 3 for 6-28-24

We’re finally stepping out of “Pride Month” and into the month of July, where we celebrate America’s independence from England, gaining freedom, by God’s providential hand of grace, through the struggle, strife, and sacrifice of our founding fathers. Rather than focusing on their own needs and wants, they looked out for and sacrificed for the good of the whole. Sadly, nationally speaking, instead of standing on their shoulders and growing stronger, we’ve allowed Marxist beliefs to infiltrate our land; erode out from under us the foundations of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; and instead of using our liberty for the good of the nation, we’ve selfishly used it to fulfill our own varied lusts.

“Liberty in chains” may seem like an oxymoron, but that’s when liberty is strongest and at its best. Some are finally waking up to the fact that self-restrained liberty makes a wonderful tool, while unrestrained liberty makes a terrible master. This is what America was built on, the example set before us by our founders and by Christ Himself: self-governance, self-restraint, “liberty in chains.”

That concept shouldn’t surprise us; Jesus said it first: “Not my will, but thine, be done.” The Apostle Paul reiterated this concept to the church: “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Galatians 5:13-14)

People around the world are waking up to these truths, even if not biblically so. They recognize the benefits of the Right, even if they don’t realize it’s the way of righteousness. Regardless, it’s a step in the right direction and we pray that God will continue to move on their hearts and minds.

As you read these three Decency Minutes scripts, or listen to them by clicking on their titles, please pray that God will continue to rule and overrule in the lives of men, women, and children, for His glory and His name’s sake.

Will America’s Election Join the Worldwide Rightward Shift?

The 2024 election season in the United States is well underway. But internationally, there are many relevant elections too. With the globalist structure that has been built underneath the American federal government, these elections have an impact on our future as well.

So far, they have had some promising results for those who want to see their governments prioritizing the care of their own citizens, an ideology which has been dubbed as “hard right.”

Recent European Union elections resulted in substantial gains on the right, UK polls are predicting a shift from the government headed by the center to the right, and in Canada, reliably liberal Toronto just elected a conservative to parliament in a special election and polls show that the majority of Canadians would like the radical leftist Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to step down. And remarkably, all of these shifts are attributed to a rightward shift in the youngest voters.

Will America join this worldwide rightward shift in November?

Two Years After Roe is Overturned, the Battle Has Just Begun

This week we celebrated the two-year anniversary of the overturning of Roe vs. Wade.  That nearly 50-year battle was hard fought.  Yet actually, the fight has only begun.

The Left has gone on the offensive, distorting the truth to pass numerous pro-abortion ballot measures.  In addition, we’re now seeing where the American people truly stand.  The stark reality is that the majority of Americans support abortion.

In response, many Republican politicians are now even more cowardly about defending life.  Yet we cannot surrender this issue and abandon the unborn.  We need to contend for hearts and minds and hold Republican leaders accountable.

This week was the anniversary of the death of Roe.  Last week we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  May it renew our commitment to never stop fighting for the inalienable right to life until every baby is welcomed and loved.

The Ten Commandments Don’t Just Belong in Schools, they Belong on Students’ Hearts

Louisiana made headlines last week for becoming the first state to require the Ten Commandments to be posted in every classroom at schools receiving state funding, from kindergarten through the university level. They must be in “large, easily readable font” and to be accompanied by a four-paragraph “context statement” describing how the Ten Commandments “were a prominent part of American public education for almost three centuries.”

The removal of these sacred commands allowed for burgeoning, leftist political activism: teaching teachers and students Marxist and LGBT ideologies.

Getting the Ten Commandments posted on classroom walls is a great start, but there will be no societal change for the better until those same Ten Commandments are posted on the students’ heart wall. For that to happen, they must be taught that they are created by God for a purpose, accountable to Him, and that objective morality is truth rather than oppression.

Earlier in the week we posted an article depicting the need for God’s law to be posted upon our hearts and suggestions on how to change the classroom atmosphere.
