It’s the last Friday of May; we’re stepping into June tomorrow. As we walk into what has come to be known as “Pride Month,” we can’t help but lament over the waywardness of our nation, the confusion of face (Daniel 9), and the refusal to accept the righteous, holy, Word of God as our national, and, in many cases, ecclesiastical standard. Such movements away from God drive a nation and its people to barbaric insanity; we are well on our way.
Dear Reader, Psalm 119:89 reminds us that “Forever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.”
The Bible settles what is right and what is wrong. THAT is truth! Times and cultures change; local and national laws change; our feelings often change according to our circumstances and sometimes our thoughts/beliefs as well; churches and denominations change; BUT GOD and His Word NEVER change! It’s settled, immutable, a surety you can stand on! It’s settled in the high court of Heaven regardless of how mere man may rule or judge on any given topic.
Read the following Decency Minute scripts or listen to Bill Johnson narrate them. Consider them, not by your own standard or feelings, but by God’s immutable, perfect, holy declarations. I, for one, am glad that God is not arbitrary and that truth is not relative. I’m grateful that God, His Word, Truth, and God’s mercies are from everlasting to everlasting. Praise ye the Lord! Regardless of what men may say, share His truth with others today.
Flagging down Heaven or a Flagging faith?
When Justice Alito’s wife reportedly flew a historical flag outside their beach house last week, the left erupted, demanding Alito recuse himself from cases involving the January 6, 2020 protests. You may be familiar with the flag, which dates back to the Revolutionary War: a simple pine tree on a white field and the words, “An Appeal to Heaven.”
Apparently, some protestors of the last election also flew this flag, which means the left views the historical banner as a symbol of insurgency.
A few days later, in Florida, a manhunt was initiated to find who defaced a flag, not an American flag – a Pride flag painted on the street to celebrate so-called Pride month, now decorated by some distinct tire patterns.
The historical reminder of our national hope being in the Lord? Treason. The defacing of a symbol of perversion? Criminal.
Lord, have mercy on Your people when you bring justice to this land.
After the 2020 elections, there was a great deal of turmoil over whether or not our 2020 elections were fair or fraudulent.
It didn’t take long to see that calling the 2020 election fraudulent could put you in a position of disfavor by the media at the highest levels. You could be labeled an election denier. Woe to you if you were a politician and stated that there were major concerns with the voting machines, i.e., Dominion tabulators.
In those states, like in Michigan, if you were a precinct delegate or an office holder of one sort of another, you sadly and potentially put yourself in a hot seat.
Hmmm. So dear fellow Christians and Christian patriots, how does this figure in the land of the free and the home of the brave – where for years we have cherished our freedom of speech, freedom of religion our bill of rights?
Watch and pray, dear friends, and recognize there is a battle going on for our freedoms and it begins with fair elections at the ballot box.
We’re thanking God that The World Health Organization’s pandemic treaty has officially failed to pass. But that doesn’t mean that we can be any less vigilant. The controversial international treaty that would have empowered the WHO with greater influence over global health and to declare pandemics on any number of issues is still alive and well for WHO officials. They’re still working on a deal that could be presented MUCH SOONER THAN YOU’D THINK.
In part, they’re considering calling it an accord instead of a treaty; that would allow it to bypass the U.S. Congress.
The wisest move, and only safe solution, is for the United States to follow the lead of several other countries and withdraw from the World Health Organization altogether. Urge Congress to pass Representative Andy Biggs’ H.R. 79, which would require the President to immediately withdraw the United States from the World Health Organization.
As we look at the troubles in our nation and in many of the churches throughout America, it’s important that we not only remember Psalm 119:89 from above, but we must also put into practice the evaluation, corrective action, and implementation of two more verses from Psalm 119:
“I thought on my ways (evaluation), and turned my feet (corrective action) unto thy testimonies. I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments (implementation).” (vs. 59-60)
The words to that great hymn O to be like Thee well describe David’s heart here. May we humble ourselves with a desire to be more like Christ!
Oh! to be like Thee, blessed Redeemer,
This is my constant longing and prayer;
Gladly I’ll forfeit all of earth’s treasures,
Jesus, Thy perfect likeness to wear.
Refrain:
Oh! to be like Thee, oh! to be like Thee,
Blessed Redeemer, pure as Thou art;
Come in Thy sweetness, come in Thy fullness;
Stamp Thine own image deep on my heart.
Oh! to be like Thee, full of compassion,
Loving, forgiving, tender and kind,
Helping the helpless, cheering the fainting,
Seeking the wand’ring sinner to find.
Oh! to be like Thee, lowly in spirit,
Holy and harmless, patient and brave;
Meekly enduring cruel reproaches,
Willing to suffer, others to save.
Oh! to be like Thee, Lord, I am coming,
Now to receive th’ anointing divine;
All that I am and have I am bringing,
Lord, from this moment all shall be Thine.
Oh! to be like Thee, while I am pleading,
Pour out Thy Spirit, fill with Thy love,
Make me a temple meet for Thy dwelling,
Fit me for life and Heaven above.
