Each of our Decency Minutes point to a tremendous need for prayer in our dear America today. As we approach these three minutes of news and come to the “Throne of Grace for help in time of trouble,” let us, by God’s great grace, ready ourselves to pray by the words of II Chronicles 7:14; “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
We urge you to read the following Decency Minute scripts, listen to Bill Johnson narrate them, and go to the Lord in prayer.
As Jews celebrated Passover – God’s deliverance from the terror of Pharaoh – mobs of inflamed pro-Hamas protestors took over elite university campuses, terrorizing Jewish students and calling for the death of Jews.
Disturbing videos have shown protestors harassing Jewish students and chanting chilling threats such as “We are Hamas,” and “the 7th of October is going to be every day for you.”
The venom they spew is the fruit of the poisonous propaganda they’ve been fed on college campuses. For decades, Marxist revolutionaries have been hired to teach America’s college students. It’s no wonder that the current generation espouses the hate and anti-American ideology they’ve been taught.
However, it won’t stay on college campuses. It’s permeated the Democratic Party and these radicalized students will be our future politicians, judges, and educators.
Our only hope is in the mercy of God. Pray that our nation returns to Him.
With each passing year, I ask: “How long, oh Lord, before you deal with our increasingly degraded homeland?”
Abortion; the redefinition of marriage and gender; lawlessness and corruption; the profaning of God’s name. As a nation we have committed these sins and so many more.
Surely, God sees. Surely, He will judge. Yet, He has graciously given us year after year to turn from our wicked ways. Will God yet grant us another year of His grace?
As we see the disintegration of our nation, many helplessly say “all we can do is pray.” Yet, prayer is one of the most important things we can do!
Join us at American Decency, 203 E Main Street in Fremont, this Thursday, May 2 at Noon for the National Day of Prayer – as we cry out to God in humble repentance and ask for His mercy upon our nation.
Voice of the Martyrs reports that in Lebanon some Christian leaders have reported an inspiring work of God, even though many Lebanese are struggling amid economic hardship and political instability.
As one pastor summarizes the situation in Lebanon, we can’t help but see some similarities in America: “You’re aware of the many crises Lebanon is facing. In the past year alone, we have endured unemployment and underemployment, a dysfunctional government, hyperinflation, and war along our southern border.”
But what is God doing in Lebanon? This same pastor continues, “And yet we’re seeing one of the greatest gospel movements in the country’s history. There have been 115 baptisms since January! Small group Bible studies in homes have multiplied, and the church is expanding in hard-to-reach places.”
Please, join me in praying: O Lord, whatever it takes, bring America to repentance, revival, renewal, and growth in You!
“Bear up the hands that hang down, by faith and prayer; support the tottering knees. Have you any days of fasting and prayer? Storm the throne of grace and persevere therein, and mercy will come down.” ~John Wesley
“Prayer keeps the heart open to God, but shut to sin.” ~Thomas Watson
“Prayer is the arrow, and faith is the bow – by which our requests go up to Heaven. A faithless prayer is a fruitless prayer: “The father of the child cried out and said with tears: Lord, I believe!” When his tear dropped to the earth – his faith reached Heaven!” ~Thomas Watson
