The House NEEDS a Voice – contact your member of Congress!

The House NEEDS a speaker, but not just any speaker.  As American Family Association recently pointed out:

“The next Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives must be a great leader, not just a good leader. Congress needs a person who has a proven track record of conservative convictions, a vision to restore American greatness, and the determination to defend the Constitution of the United States.”

They go on to promote Republican nominee Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) as the one whose voice needs to be in the speaker position: “Jordan is a constitutionalist, a man of integrity, and a founder of the House Freedom Caucus –– the band of conservative members of Congress dedicated to fighting for liberty.”

We urge you to contact your member of Congress (link below).

Al Mohler, in this past Tuesday’s The Briefing, clearly and concisely explained why it’s so important for the House to elect its speaker, for without that role “the House cannot operate.” With all that is happening around the world and within our own nation, “We clearly need a functioning national government, and that means that the House, with a very thin Republican majority, must elect a speaker. This is a situation that is now escalated beyond anything that was on the imagination of those who took the action to remove Kevin McCarthy from that post, but the absence of a plan B after plan A has become glaringly obvious. At this point, it’s leaning into irresponsibility.” If our Congress doesn’t fill this position soon, it’s “not going to be good for the House of Representatives. It’s not going to be good for the United States, and that means right now, it’s not good for the world, so there’s a lot riding on the House, in this case, the House Republican majority being able to elect a competent and efficient Speaker of the House.”

According to FOX News, Jim Jordan, in his bid for Speaker of the House, didn’t get enough votes during the second round of voting and even had more Republicans voting against him than during the first round.

This isn’t unprecedented and we urge you to contact your member of Congress, urging THEM to vote “YES” for Jim Jordan as Speaker of the House. Another vote could happen as early as today; contact them ASAP, letting your voice be heard for the good of our government and the world.
