When the Wicked Rule

The headlines tell the story: “Smash and Grab Crime Wave Spreads Across U.S.”  “Career Criminal Suspected in Grisly Stabbing Death of UCLA Grad Student”. Lawlessness is escalating in the U.S., and when lawlessness goes unchecked, civil society crumbles.  In 2020, the U.S. saw the highest-ever increase in homicides since the FBI began tracking those statistics – up nearly 30%.  In 2021, the trend continued with a dozen major U.S. cities setting homicide records. In addition, cities have been hit by a wave of “smash-and-grab” robberies, where organized groups of looters attack store employees and steal thousands of dollars in merchandise, costing U.S. retailers $65 billion a year.  Yet, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot blames the retailers for robberies, stating they should do more to protect their stores.  Biden’s press secretary, Jen Psaki, blamed Covid as the “root cause” of looting and Nancy Pelosi says “there is an attitude of lawlessness in our country that springs from I don’t know where.”

Perhaps, Madam Speaker, the policies you and your party espouse have something to do with it:  defund police, eliminate bail, reduce felonies to misdemeanors, open the southern border to millions of unvetted illegals, dismiss BLM and Antifa rioters as “mostly peaceful protests.”  And, one of the actual root causes, other than the ultimate cause: sin reigning in the hearts of mankind, is the breakdown of the family.  Leftist policies encouraging welfare and unwed motherhood have given us a massive percentage of fatherless young men and dysfunctional families.

Mix it all together and the end result is the proliferation of violent crime boiling over in the cities of America, while repeat offenders are released over and over again.  Why would prosecutors sworn to uphold the law, undermine it?  Many of them are tied to one man – billionaire leftist/atheist, George Soros.  For years Soros has used his massive wealth to transform the U.S. and has brazenly revealed his globalist objectives, stating: “The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States.”  Richard Poe, co-author of the book, “The Shadow Party: How George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Sixties Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party,” writes: “Soros’ private philanthropy, totaling nearly $5 billion, continues undermining America’s traditional Western values.  His giving has provided funding of abortion rights, atheism, drug legalization, sex education, euthanasia, feminism, gun control, globalization, mass immigration, gay marriage and other radical experiments in social engineering.  … Through his global web of Open Society Foundations, Soros has spent 25 years recruiting, training, indoctrinating and installing a network of loyal operatives in 50 countries, placing them in positions of influence and power in media, government, finance and academia.”   Soros also influences the election of leftist secretaries of state in battleground states, who typically oversee the state’s election process.  It’s no surprise that Michigan’s own secretary of state, who oversaw the fraudulent election practices in Detroit in 2020, is Soros-backed.  Michigan’s leftist Attorney General Dana Nessel, who has done so much damage in our state, is also Soros-funded.

In recent years Soros has also set his sights on undermining the criminal justice system.  Soros understands that law and order undergirds a civil society.  Remove the rule of law, and the people will lose faith in our system of government, making it easier to deconstruct and remake America into his leftist ideal. Soros has been funneling millions of dollars into local district attorney races across the country, seeking to elect DAs who will implement “soft-on-crime” policies, where criminals aren’t prosecuted, violence escalates, and civil society crumbles.  It has often been said that to rebuild the moral foundation of our nation, we must start from the bottom up – building strong families grounded upon the Word of God.  Soros is seeking to tear down the moral foundations of America from the bottom up, starting in cities and towns all across the nation.

For example, in California alone, Soros has pumped millions of dollars into the election campaigns of radical district attorneys such as L.A.’s George Gascón and San Francisco’s DA, Chesa Boudin, who previously worked for the Venezuelan socialist dictator Hugo Chavez and is the son of two Weather Underground domestic terrorists.  In Chicago, Soros spent $2 million to fund Chicago DA Kim Foxx’s re-election and in 2016, Soros also spent $2 million in a local sheriff’s race to help elect leftist Paul Penzone in Maricopa County, Arizona, (a county which made headlines over voter fraud charges in the 2020 presidential election).  New York’s recently elected DA Alvin Bragg, who announced he will no longer be prosecuting most crimes including armed robbery, is also Soros-funded.

So, what’s happening as a result of these elections?  As these Soros-backed DAs undermine the legal system, showing more empathy for the perpetrator than the victim, violent crime is soaring as criminals are sent the message that they won’t be prosecuted.  Leftist policies such as the elimination of bail and the reduction of most felony crimes to slap-on-the-wrist misdemeanors have demoralized the police force who know that even if they arrest lawbreakers, they’ll be released.  Essentially, most crimes have now been legalized; unless you actually kill somebody, you will be back on the streets within hours. It’s a very deliberate plan to undermine the rule of law and ultimately our constitutional republic.

Yet, Soros and the Left are not just seeking to throw off the restraint of man’s law, but ultimately God’s law – on which our legal system is based.  God’s Word tells us that a nation that honors God’s law will be blessed and history tells us that those who don’t are often destroyed from within.  When a person or a nation turns away from the true God, seeking to become a law unto themselves, the Lord removes His protective hand.  As those in authority sow the wind of lawlessness, we will all reap the whirlwind. (Hosea 8:7)
