TOMORROW (10/6): We the People

By: Steve Huston

Join us TOMORROW (10/6) at the American Decency Association (203 E. Main Street, Fremont, MI) to watch God’s Not Dead: We the People at 7 PM. Curious? Watch the trailer, then invite friends and family to join you at ADA tomorrow evening!

Who, over the last couple years, hasn’t felt the government broaden it’s reach and strengthen its grip on a fearful American republic? They’ve made unconstitutional demands, interfering with livelihoods, businesses, and religious institutions. They did these things by promoting fear among the masses and assuming control which was not theirs; yet many fell unquestioningly in line with an overreaching government. Things like mandated shut downs, forced masking, and mandated/coerced vaccinations were all foisted upon Americans as if we work for those in positions of authority instead of the recognizing the reality that they work for us, We the People. With the exception of a few liberty-minded state governors, the law of the land – the Constitution of the United States of America – had been tossed aside due to a time of crisis. Let us always remember that our freedoms and the rule of law are especially important during such times. Otherwise, crises may be invented and promoted for the disarming of American’s rights and liberties, including those of religious liberty, self-governance, and even the rights of our First and Second Amendments.

At this point one may wonder, “What in the world does this have to do with a God’s Not Dead movie? That’s a fair question, especially if you’ve already seen the film. While the central issue of this movie deals directly with homeschooling, it speaks to the importance of the rule of law, religious liberty, self-governance, the fact that the government works for the people with specific and limited enumerated powers, and that we must pull together – overcoming our differences – to rein in a government which is attempting to go rogue. If we don’t work together, we will be separated into niches and destroyed one group at a time. We must care about our freedoms and “love our neighbor as ourself” above our individual concerns and likes. In other words, we do the right thing and we stand for what is right simply because it is right, regardless of whether we feel we receive any direct benefit or not from standing. As Abraham Lincoln said, using the words of Christ in Matthew 12:25 and Mark 3:25, a house divided against itself cannot stand. If you are reading this and happen to be a Christian, you take these stands first and foremost for the glory of God and for the sake of loving your fellowman.

Though these are heavy thoughts and topics, the movie itself is enjoyable, providing some serious things to think on. Please accept our invitation to tomorrow’s movie at 7 PM and invite others to come with you to ADA for a good time of viewing together.

A Heads Up!

The following Friday, October 14 at 1 PM and 7 PM we will be showing a documentary entitled The Real Story of January 6, which shows what took place on January 6, 2021 and what is happening to those political prisoners who are now accused of insurrection. This is a well-done film put out by The Epoch Times. Keep your eyes on your inbox or our webpage (www.americandecency.org) for more information on this very important film.
