The World Is Out of Control—Or Is It?

By: Steve Huston

With an ever-widening gap of division within our nation, often exacerbated by political parties and media, it’s easy to fall prey to anxiety, remembering that a house divided against itself cannot stand. Seeing the economic duress, woke policies, and global push for tyranny, many have to suppress an underlying sense of hopelessness.

To know that the American public was so easily pitted one against another by fear and COVID-19 mandates; that much of the American church stepped in line to give up their religious liberty; that proof continues to arise that the “vaccine” was never intended to do what an overstepping government claimed it would; these things are still being used to cause anger, fear, and division, which leads to great uncertainty for America’s and American’s future.

Rising food and fuel prices combined with their scarcity drives people to wonder how, and if, they’ll be able to care for their families.

Watching the Chinese Communist Party with its unrestricted warfare, crimes against humanity, and desire for global domination, the future may seem bleak. Take note of these following, recent events surrounding China; it’s only natural that great concern might invade our minds according to this temporal realm:

*  This rising world power has now (Sunday) officially elected President Xi Jinping to an unprecedented third five-year term as general secretary of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) in a closed-door vote, after a week-long congress. This secured place makes him China’s most powerful leader since Mao Zedong.

*  Russia’s Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un have given hearty congratulations to Xi. Kim Jong Un included these words in a congratulatory letter: “I, together with you, will shape more a beautiful future of the DPRK-China relations meeting the demand of the times and lead the endeavours for its realisation so as to continue to powerfully propel the socialist cause in the two countries.” DPRK stands for North Korea’s official name, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

*  As is often the case, what is not said is as, or more important, than what is said. The New York Times has reported two omissions from Xi’s speech that CCP leaders have included for decades. The omission of the declaration that China is in a “period of important strategic opportunity” and that “peace and development remain the themes of the era” speak volumes to the CCP’s 20th congress. Add to this somber warning of “dangerous storms” on the horizon and the threat of international unrest certainly stirs something inside.

*  With Xi Jinping’s insatiable, yet patient, thirst for global domination; China’s readiness for kinetic warfare; their bold threats against Taiwan, America’s ally; plus, President Biden’s questionable ties and allegiances; and, again, cause for great concern is only natural. One needs only pay attention to such well-informed voices as Frank Gaffney, Sam Faddis, and Gordon Chang to keep updated on these fronts.

China is only one of the actors on the global scene that causes concern. Putting the political aside, to see Christian persecution increase around the world and watch the decline of religious liberty within our own beloved United States, one might be tempted to think that evil is more powerful than God Himself. Certainly there are those who would have us believe that God has abdicated His throne, that His glory has faded through the ages, and that man has the answer for today.

BUT that is NOT the truth. God, who is righteous and holy, is still in control. Jesus has promised, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Reader, do NOT despair; put your trust in Him. It’s not enough to know this truth – walk in it and share it with others. These perilous times are the perfect opportunity to share the gospel message, a message of salvation, peace, and hope.

Keep your eyes on Christ!
