The Gift of Life

By: Steve Huston

The wrapping paper is now thrown away and perhaps some of the toys have already been broken or have lost their attraction. Perhaps we now look back with fondness, thinking of the gifts we received or continue to yearn for those things we wish we had been given. Yet, regardless of the technology, fun games, warm clothes, or other presents, nothing tops the gifts that God gives. His two greatest gifts are those of life and eternal life.

If you’re reading this article, you’ve been given the beautiful gift of life; don’t take it for granted. Millions have received the gift of life from God, only to have it snuffed out by man, before having the chance to live. As we think of those who have been aborted, let us continue to pray that the Supreme Court will rule wisely and constitutionally and Biblically as they consider the case that sets before them (Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization). If they rule for life, there is the possibility that Roe v. Wade, that wicked blot of a ruling that has stained and scarred America, could be done away with. Let us pray for that as well.

Even more importantly, if you’re reading this article, you have an opportunity for eternal life as well. As the book of Titus reads, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.” It’s so important for each of us to realize that one day we will stand in judgment before our Creator and give account of what we have done with our lives and what we have done with the gracious offer of salvation made possible through the atoning work of Jesus upon the cross. It is through Him that we can approach God and be at peace with the One who is holy, holy, holy.

Dear Reader, I urge you; trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and be saved. Cry out to Him; He is our only Hope.
