Free Lunch and Presentation NEXT Wednesday (12/7)

Michael Perkins is coming to Fremont!  Be a part of our year-end event on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the American Decency building (203 E. Main Street, Fremont, MI) at 12 PM.  We’ll provide a free luncheon as we fellowship with Michael, followed by his presentation as he speaks about the burden that God has laid upon his heart – LGBT Activists In the Church.

We, the Church, are to be in the world but not of the world. Some of you may have heard this quoted as Scripture; it’s not, although the thought is a Biblical one. In what is known as Jesus’ high priestly prayer, He said, “I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (John 17:14-17)

One way to explain the meaning of this is to think of the Church as a boat. The place for a boat is on the water; but if the water gets in the boat, we’re in trouble! Dear Reader, Michael’s topic describes the water getting into the boat! How is it possible that such activists, with their evil agendas, have infiltrated the church and how should we respond to them? With various government policies in place, what can the church do? Jesus gave us the answer to these questions: “I have given them thy word…Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” We are to be sanctified (cleansed and set apart) by the Word of God; it makes us different and keeps us from sin. The solution is simple although it’s rarely easy – make your stand on the Bible, it never changes.

The opinions of men shift, much like the wind. Man-made laws change. Even denominational bylaws and creeds may be rewritten. But God’s Word remains forever; He is the “keeper of truth.” (Psalm 146:6)

Michael is always well-researched, having the facts in hand; and his presentations are always wrapped in the wisdom of God’s Word, something that is so desperately needed today. His presentation is sure to point out the trouble the Church finds itself in, while giving us a Biblical bucket to bail the water out of our boat. Might we stay our Biblical course to the glory of God and the magnifying of Christ.
