Please join us as we will humble ourselves before God for a time of prayer and supplication for the following day’s elections; this will be at the American Decency building on Monday, November 7 at 7 PM.
Elections have consequences; it’s no wonder that election season finds so many citizens concerned about the future. Each side foments anxiety against the other, painting their opposition as monsters while they paint themselves as holding the golden ticket of peace, prosperity, and a path to better days. Make sure you know who and what you’re voting for; do the research.
American Christians are indeed citizens of the United States, but first and foremost they are citizens of Heaven and must act accordingly. Instead of succumbing to great anxiety or a wrath-producing anger, Christians are called to “Be careful (anxious) for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” (Philippians 4:6)
It’s with this in mind that we invite all praying Christians to join Newaygo County Right to Life for a prayer meeting at the American Decency building (203 E. Main, Fremont, MI) at 7 PM next Monday, November 7.
Whether praying at American Decency, from your own home, or wherever you are, let us not be negligent in petitioning the God of Heaven regarding these election results, particularly where the unborn are concerned (Proposal 3). He is truly the One in control.
Might our prayers also echo David’s in Psalm 5:8-12, as we seek the Lord’s Hand of mercy and help. “Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue. Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee. But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”
