Manipulative Money

By: Steve Huston

One of former President Ronald Reagan’s most quoted quips is, “The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.” Yet the government has a bad habit of creating a crisis in order to come along with those nine “most terrifying words;” in this way, they can look like the good guy, a savior to help you out of all your troubles.

Most recently is the so-called “COVID relief package,” a dastardly deal that gives a pittance for the people while spending hog-wild to further their own agendas; maybe that’s why they say it’s mostly pork. Yet people are excited to collect some “free money.” As I have frequently told my children for the last 25 years, and continue to teach my youngest, “You don’t get something for nothing.” Perhaps the worst part is that many people don’t look beyond today, not caring that there is an agenda behind all these things. Most don’t recognize that they are being manipulated into a bad deal. If I offered to “give” you $200 and you knew that I would come back later to force $4,200 from you, you would tell me in no uncertain terms to keep my money.

If the COVID relief package was really given for COVID relief (instead of having a nice sounding title like so many bills do) each taxpaying adult would receive just shy of $42,000 (each married couple getting almost $84,000). Instead, the people are receiving around $2000 but getting stuck for the bill of $42,000. (These numbers come from Curtis Bowers’ Agenda Weekly). Yes, stuck for the bill because the government does not earn/make any money; whatever money they have has come from you, the taxpayer, through taxation. Although this administration is pushing these things, make no mistake, there are many Republicans who, through apathy or assist, are helping to bring this about.

Family Research Council’s President, Tony Perkins, is quoted in the Morning Star:

"This is government irresponsibility at its worst.  Calling this a rescue act is a convenient cover for a Democrat bail out of mismanaged Blue states and a payoff of their political base.  It massively funds abortion, liberal teachers' unions, blue states, the arts, and transportation kickbacks for districts like Nancy Pelosi's and Chuck Schumer's.

"President Biden ignored his promise to meet Republican lawmakers halfway by ramming through the first coronavirus bill without bipartisan support. President Biden is so little concerned with Covid that he appointed an abortion activist with no public health experience to head the Department of Health and Human Services, but he's not above using virus scare tactics to ram through unrelated spending that will saddle the nation with another $1.9 trillion (with a T) in debt."

Going back to Reagan’s words, I want to point out that the government has created a financial crisis by unconstitutionally and arbitrarily deciding which businesses and workers are “essential” and which are not. They are manipulating the economy through executive order (on federal and state levels), costing the country businesses and jobs, in order to crush the middle class. After all, there needs to be something destroyed if one is going to “build back better;” if one is going to have a “great reset” something must be erased.

Constitutionally protected rights and freedoms, financial stability, privacy, unitedness, and peace are just a few of the things that are erased, even if just little by little.

When the economy is in shambles, it affects our military which affects how and if we can protect ourselves, our ability to have standing in the global realm, both US and citizens of the world, and the list goes on. Financial fear is second only to fear of one’s health. We’ve seen how quickly we were manipulated into giving up our rights, freedoms, and religious observances for fear of health; what can we expect when further financial crisis is added to that? With things like “universal basic income” and digital currency, along with which all those things entail, we will lose more freedoms and privacy. We will move ever closer to the globalist communist state. We’ve started on a road of tyranny and one thing is certain, tyrants never give up power willingly.

Although it is crucial for us to understand what is going on in government and that they have an agenda which we must find a way to combat, it’s vital that we understand that there is only one Savior, the only Son of God, Jesus Christ. Although we may be financially saddled with a debt that we did not create, but certainly added to, we are spiritually saddled with the debt of original sin, and we have added our own sins to that debt as well. This sin debt is a greater and deeper problem than anything the government has created; and our only hope to come out from under its heavy weight is through belief on the Lord Jesus Christ. Sin is a debt we could never repay; Jesus, truly the Savior, came to pay that debt and set us free.

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Romans 5:12  “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23  “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9

We urge you to seek the Lord while He may be found. He is truly our only hope.
