Join us for the National Day of Prayer

By: Lisa Van Houten

American Decency will again host a National Day of Prayer event as we have done for approximately the last 33 years (except for last year when we held an online National Day of Prayer event due to the early days of the covid scare).   In the early years operating as the American Family Association of Michigan, we, in conjunction with AFA founder Donald E. Wildmon, encouraged what was called “Meet at City Hall” on the National Day of Prayer.  We promoted city and county “Meet at City Hall” events throughout the state publishing a list of the cities, counties, locations, and times.

This year our local National Day of Prayer gathering will take place in ADA’s auditorium at 203 E. Main Street, Fremont MI on Thursday, May 6 at noon.  We have invited friends of this ministry who are bold and loving for the Lord and America to share a few brief words of testimony on particular battleground topics and then to lead in prayer – praying with God’s help.

In such perilous and wicked times, it is our duty and privilege as Christians to recognize our desperate need for God and to cry out to Him in prayer. We invite you to join us as we listen to a somber call for repentance and as we cry out to God on behalf of our nation. Join us at the American Decency headquarters as we come together in prayer.  If you are unable to join us in person, we will also be live-streaming the event on our Facebook page.

What:  National Day of Prayer

When:  Thursday, May 6, 2021
12:00 – 1:15 PM

Where: American Decency
203 E. Main Street,
Fremont, MI  49412

The time of prayer will include:

ADA’s Bill Johnson and Steve Huston:  A lamentation and a call for societal repentance and revival.

Kamal Saleem (joining us virtually):  Declaring God’s warning signs of spiritual decline and a prayer for families to return and remember their God in devotion and obedience to God’s Word and Spirit.

Deborah VanDyk:  Sharing a few words on the importance of being a godly voice in standing up.

Michael Perkins (joining us virtually):  As producer of AFA’s powerful movie “In His Image,” Michael will share his thoughts and observations regarding the satanic assault upon the image of God in His children through LGBT identity and pray as God leads him in this massive concern.

Pastor Gene Walter (pastor for 33 years of Fruitland Baptist Church, Whitehall): Pastor Gene will close us out with a few timely thoughts from scripture and pray for God’s grace and mercy, yet “not my will, but Thy will be done.”

Bob Azkoul:  As a soon to be 90-year-old, Bob will share his testimony of amazing grace and faithfulness, closing us with the congregational singing of: “Come Holy Spirit, dark is the hour.  We need Your filling, Your love and Your mighty power.  Move now among us, stir us we pray.  Come Holy Spirit.  Revive the church today.  ….”

Please join with us and fellow believers, either in person or online, on the National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 6 at 12:00 PM. Together, we will turn to the Lord and seek His face and His hand of blessing in a time of prayer for our country.
