Who’s Riding Whom?

By: Steve Huston

The documentary we’ll be showing at the American Decency building (203 E. Main St, in Fremont)THIS Thursday,October 8, 2020 at both 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM (EST), will bring to light the nature of presidential candidate Joe Biden and show, in part, how he abused his position as Vice-President under the Obama administration. It’s called Riding the Dragon and you won’t want to miss it. But I ask you, who is riding whom?

Most have heard of, or read, The Scorpion and the Frog, one of Aesop’s Fables. Take a minute to read it below, refreshing your memories.

A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The frog asks, “How do I know you won’t sting me?” The scorpion says, “Because if I do, I will die too.”

The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream, the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown, but has just enough time to gasp “Why?”

Replies the scorpion: “It’s my nature…”

Peter Schweizer’s documentary, Riding the Dragon, uncovers the secret world of former Vice-President Joe Biden, his family’s relationship to China, and the sinister business deals that enriched them at America’s expense. He may seem to be riding the dragon but at what point will the dragon be riding him? Are we willing to give the highest office in the land to one who has made several deals with one of America’s vilest enemies, for his family’s personal gain? Knowing how China is regularly jockeying into position globally to dominate politically, economically, medically, etc., and knowing the CCP’s regular abuse of human rights and their disregard for religious rights; do we really want to place in the Oval Office a man whose nature leads him to profit from our enemy, at our expense? One can be sure that if the tail turns, it will be America that gets stung.

In Connectography: Mapping the Future of Global Civiliztion, Parag Khanna maps out how China is wheeling and dealing to exert global dominance:

In their first two years at the helm, the Chinese leadership duo of Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang visited more than fifty countries on all continents to sign investment deals. The power of China’s supply chain geography lies not in its international military footprint or alliances—which remain relatively limited—but in its ability to exploit mutually beneficial supply-demand axes. In Latin America, China extended long-term contracts to purchase Venezuelan oil signed currency swaps with Argentina, and supported cross-continental railway projects in Brazil. China has provided Ecuador $11 billion in loans since 2008, with $9 billion more promised in exchange for almost all of Ecuador’s oil exports. China is also the main foreign investor in Ecuador’s mining sector. Particularly during resource slumps such as that which began in 2013-14, commodities-dependent economies rely more than ever on Chinese loans that are disbursed much faster than the International Monetary Fund (IMF) can and tailored to allow repayment in raw materials if countries can’t meet financial terms. Indeed, as Ecuador’s debts mount, it is effectively selling one-third of its Amazonian rain-forest region to Chinese oil companies for exploration.

Trade is how China builds complementarity; investment is how it builds leverage.

Nature’s resources are limited; the “dragon” has an insatiable appetite to gather them up, take a foothold militarily on land and sea, or sit bidin’ its time patiently. How much have they invested in former VP Biden and to what end?

R.C. Sproul tied former VP Biden’s nature (way of thinking) to Marxism, which is closely tied to the CCP’s way of thinking. You can watch this short clip here. Birds of a feather not only flock together, they end up in the same nest, which is where his policies promise to take us.

Why bring this all up to advertise a film? Because elections have consequences. We’ve recently appreciated an administration that will put America first in dealing with the world at large, encouraging other nations to do likewise – making deals that are best for them. President Trump has been investing in America while taking the sting; the former Vice-President has been more interested in personal gain while passing the sting on to America. The difference between President Trump’s and former VP Biden’s dealing with China is deep and wide. We must recognize that China desires to rule, making the rest of the world to be subservient tokens that do their bidding and supply their insatiable hunger and thirst for domination.

Honestly though, “there but for the grace of God go I.” While our old nature ruled, we might easily have done the same or worse, feeling the sting of sin. It’s only by getting a nature transplant, trusting in Jesus Christ and having the Holy Spirit rule our lives that we are saved from such actions. Pray for the salvation of this man and his family; pray for the future of America; and pray “for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”(1 Timothy 2:2)

We are grateful to God that He has moved on the hearts and minds of our friends, showing us a little of what is inside them. Your notes of encouragement, prayers, and financial support mean so much to us; without them, we wouldn’t be able to do the important work that God has laid upon us.

Won’t you prayerfully seek the Lord’s will to come alongside us again, supporting us in whatever manner you feel led? Thank you.
