What’s Inside Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A CEO, Dan Cathy, says that white Christians should repent for racism and fight for their black brothers and sisters. To show a contrite heart, he punctuated his statement by shining the shoes of a black man, encouraging others to follow his ex­ample. This once self-proclaimed Christian, now “woke,” fast food chain joins several other companies and churches in assuming that if you’re white you’re racist. That sen­timent is in itself racist.

Instead of holding BLM inspired rioters re­sponsible for their lawless actions, Cathy stated, “My plea would be for the white people, rather than point fingers at that kind of criminal effort, would be to see the level of frustration and exasperation and almost the sense of hopelessness that exists in some of those activists within the African-Ameri­can community.” What about the hopeless­ness and frustration that is welling up in innocent law-abiding citizens whose lives are being affected and/or ruined?

Here’s a novel idea: Regardless of color, if you’re racist; repent. If you’re not basing your decisions on color, no need to repent.Are you treating anyone unjustly, change your ways; no, well done!

Even though sin affects others, it’s only against God that we sin and we can only re­pent of wrongs that we have done; I cannot repent of another’s past actions. Such fake repentance will not fix so-called systemic racism. What I can and should do is fight for liberty and justice for ALL—every man, woman, and child, regardless of color.

A chicken may lay an egg of varying colors—I’ve seen shades of brown, white, and even blue; but when it sits on my break­fast plate, I have no idea what color it is. Frankly, I don’t care; it’s what’s on the inside that counts.

It’s time to crack the false notion of racism; it’s what’s inside that counts. We were all rotten eggs once; Jesus brings new life and perspective to all who repent and submit to Him. Repenting and submitting to men does nothing for anyone.

American economist and social theorist Thomas Sowell offers this sage advice: “Racism does not have a good track record. It’s been tried out for a long time and you’d think by now we’d want to put an end to it instead of putting it under new manage­ment.”

I suggest putting it under this new man­agement—the blood of Jesus Christ!
