Will Freedom Rise Again?

“Will Freedom Rise Again?” That’s the question which author and historian William Federer will be answering for us this weekend on Friday evening and Saturday morning—details below.

America and its worldview of God have changed over the last 240 years. Some of these changes were subtle and slow; others were ostentatious and so fast that our heads were left spinning. As these changes have taken place and our historical accounting of the truth has been revised, the American people have changed as well. Our founding fathers and others warned that a departure from true adherence to the Christian religion would result in our demise.

A devastating change that took place was the slow evolution within government, morphing from a republic to a democracy or some twisted monster which is a combination of  the two.  Instead of protecting the citizens, this monster now terrorizes the townspeople and raises its tyrannical head as it grows. Scottish historian Alexander Fraser Tytler warned, “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the people discover they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that democracy always collapses over a loose fiscal policy–to be followed by a dictatorship.”

This same historian also described the cycle that many nations go through from rise to fall:

    From bondage to spiritual faith;

    From spiritual faith to great courage;

    From courage to liberty;

    From liberty to abundance;

    From abundance to complacency;

    From complacency to apathy;

    From apathy to dependence;

    From dependence back into bondage

We are somewhere between these last two stages. I have to admit, I’ve always wondered how one would go from “dependence back into bondage” without an invasion or overtaking from a foreign power; but recently we have American citizens from all generations who desire a socialist/communist government. They are looking to be controlled but have no idea what that even really looks like and are ignorant of the implications of such tyrannical bondage. So we rightly ask, “Will Freedom Rise Again?”

This is a very important and weighty question. It affects all of us and our families for generations to come! We have watched people who are stuck in complacency and apathy. The problem is that most people are defined by these terms all the way through into bondage. It isn’t until bondage has taken its full run that people start to awake and be concerned. By then it’s too late.

We urge you to wake up! We urge you to shake your family, neighbors, and church awake! Unless God is gracious and turns back the clock on this cycle, we are headed into a bondage that will not be soon nor easily broken. Stir yourself to action; that first action is prayer and becoming informed. Then we need to get out there and inform others. These are perilous times and the window of action could be shutting quickly.
