Unique Opportunity THIS Friday!

By: American Decency Staff

This Friday, American Decency is holding an event that could change your family for generations to come! I know that’s a big statement; let me explain why it’s important that you attend this unique event on March 23 at 7 PM at our headquarters (203 E. Main St. Fremont, MI). Read on and you’ll understand why you should register now, making sure that you get one of the limited 135 seats for this free event.

There are very few people and even fewer organizations which warn parents and children alike about the digital dangers which are so prevalent in our ever-expanding digital culture. One no longer has to search out pornography and would-be predators; they now search for you! Protect Young Eyes(PYE) warns parents and others who care about children, of the websites, apps, and social media traps that seem innocent enough but can easily pull young people into their web, entrapping their minds. What makes PYE even more unique is the fact that their material is primarily for faith-based parents. Even if one isn’t a believer, who wouldn’t want to protect their children from the traps that are waiting to ensnare them? Who wouldn’t want to learn about the best resources available? For those who are believers, we need to recognize that this is really deep-in-the-trenches spiritual warfare; the devil is like a roaring lion that desires to devour us and our young ones.

PYE warns that “parents must be active and aggressive and be on the offense if we want to protect our children from digital dangers.” This Christian based organization gives practical parenting strategies that will help you to communicate with your children. They will encourage you to be a conversational, loving, and intentional parent, and training strategies on how to become equipped in the aforementioned areas.

Other than one’s own personal relationship with Jesus Christ, is there anything more precious to you than your spouse and children? Software protection is important but it’s not enough. We must be personally involved in protecting them. Where they are surfing on the internet, what they are reading, what they are looking at, and what they are writing, saying, and sharing affects their whole person.

Solomon, wisest man in all the earth, warns that if we don’t catch the little foxes, they will spoil the vineyard. That’s why this event could change your family for generations to come. What we allow today affects who we become tomorrow; and who we are tomorrow affects our future generations. The little breeches we allow in our integrity; the carelessness with which we approach entertainment and social media; the “it’s just a little thing” mentality which keeps us from recognizing danger and sin; these “little foxes” spoil our mind, our character, and spoil our soul for Christ. As Spurgeon would warn, “What has driven Christ from you? He hides his face behind the wall of your sins. That wall may be built up of ‘little’ pebbles, as easily as of great stones. The sea is made of drops; the rocks are made of grains: and the sea which divides you from Christ may be filled with the drops of your little sins; and the rock which has well near wrecked your ship, may have been made by the daily working of the coral insects of your little sins.”

It’s vital that we set boundaries for ourselves and our children. It’s imperative that we control our screen and internet usage instead of allowing it to control us. These things affect the condition of our soul and the lives of those who come after us. Protect Young Eyes is here to encourage us and inform us along these lines.

What you or your children put before your eyes matters! Because this is such a vital issue and a real battle for the eyes and minds of young and old alike, clear your calendar for this date. We urge you;don’t let anything keep you from joining us on Friday, March 23 at 7 PM (203 E. Main St, Fremont – American Decency building). Protect Young Eyes (PYE) will be here to give a masterful presentation on how to best protect your young person from the dangers of this digital age. Registration will be limited to the first 135 people to sign up; so click here now to register and guarantee your place!
