A new year is upon us and our minds fly to fresh starts and anticipated plans or activities that will fill up the calendar before we know it. Like fresh-fallen snow before it’s sullied with footprints, some people’s minds are excited greatly at the new possibilities that lie before them.
Even so, there is much to be appreciated of the old, especially old blessings. We are ever so grateful for the blessings of saving and sanctifying grace which has saved and transformed our soul. We are thankful for the blessings of experience which have, by God’s grace, allowed us to glean wisdom. We remember the “old paths” (Jer. 6:16) with fondness and cherish the Word of God which is old as the foundations of this world yet fresh every day.
We are also so very grateful to God for old (and new) friends who God has used to help keep His work alive by joining with us financially, with prayer, and with words of encouragement. We don’t often come to our friends for help because we dislike doing so.We are truly humbled and amazed at how God continually meets our needs and how our old (and new) friends allow themselves to be used by God to be a blessing to us.
Every single gift large or small, each prayer, and every single word of encouragement is truly a blessing. With this new year we thank God for the old blessings and we look forward to seeing how He will work in our lives and in yours. Thank you for allowing the Lord to use you. We would love to hear from you throughout this new year. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Happy New Year!
