Murfreesboro, Tennessee may not be the center of the world but it is a center of worldviews in conflict…well, at least there should be conflict. You see, Murfreesboro is home to both Trevecca Nazarene University and to The Islamic Center of Murfreesboro. Firmly holding opposing beliefs in exclusivity (Jesus vs. Allah, Bible vs. Koran) and recognizing the call to violence and to the undoing of our Constitution and freedoms by many of Islam’s adherents, conflict would be inevitable and one would expect a Christian university to be a handler, proponent, and exposer of the truth.
According to John Guandolo (Understanding the Threat), a former FBI counterterrorism expert, the top man at this Islamic center graduated number four out of 200 from Al-Azhar, “the #1 Islamic university on the planet.” Mr. Guandolo places high emphasis on this, surmising that it says a lot when they send the “cream of the crop” to Tennessee instead of some Middle Eastern country to teach and train.
So, what does all this have to do with Trevecca Nazarene University?
Tennessee gubernatorial candidate Mae Beavers arranged a Homeland Security summit where John Guandolo, would discuss national security issues, at Trevecca Nazarene University. That is until the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a Muslim Brotherhood front group, urged the University to withdraw its intent to host this event.
Conservative candidate Beavers, herself an alumni of Trevecca and member of the Nazarene Church, released a statement saying that Trevecca was caving to Islamic pressure and that the university had abandoned Biblical principles in order to embrace political correctness and promote the interests of those who deny Christ.
Janet Mefferd interviewed John Guandolo on her program Janet Mefferd Live on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 which is archived on afr.net. Referring to Trevecca and its president, Dan Boone, Guandolo said, “it’s disappointing that a Christian university—a supposedly Christian university—would show such a lack of courage but quite frankly that’s been the majority of my experiences.” He was also quick to point out that he has met many pastors and people in leadership who are willing to speak the truth.
With the interfaith dialogue movement attacking and eroding the foundational truths of the Christian faith within many Christian educational institutions and churches, we must take a stand urging them to stand. Silence not only makes these places complicit, it affects the thinking of those who attend these “institutions of faith” and gives boldness to those who would strive to deny the exclusivity of Christ and undermine the safety of our nation and its Christian heritage.
We urge you to call Trevecca Nazarene University at 615-248-1200 and speak with President Dan Boone. Express your disappointment with their refusal to play a role in warning and urge him to reconsider his decision. Or email his assistant at atwining@trevecca.edu.
On February 9th and 10th we will be featuring a watchman on the wall, who has paid a great price for warning, reporting, and calling out. Stephen Coughlin, author of “Catastrophic Failure,” is one of America’s finest truth-tellers, but it has cost him dearly for exposing Islam and its agenda. Steve Coughlin loves America and masterfully warns those who will listen.
