God Speaks; Are You Listening?

By: American Decency Staff

Make sure to read all the way to the end!  A live gubernatorial debate in Michigan and a 24 hour prayer watch to impact the court await our readers—READ ON!

On Friday, March 16, with showings at 1 PM and 7 PM, the American Decency Association will be presenting a free documentary produced by the American Family Association. The God Who Speaks will be shown in our auditorium which is located at, 203 E Main Street, Fremont, Michigan.

This 90 minute documentary answers common objections about the Bible’s reliability and equips believers to confidently base their lives on the power of God’s Word. This film offers great insight into the authority of the Bible as some of the world’s most respected biblical scholars speak to its authority, inspiration, help, and divine authorship.

Satan has always raised doubts as to Scripture’s divine inspiration, today is no exception. He has even denied the veracity of what is written therein; but if we listen to him, it’s very much to our detriment. After all, the Bible is authoritative in all that it speaks to; and it speaks to everything.

We have all seen people walk in their own way, ignoring the divine guidance of Scripture. Sometimes it’s because they have decided that the way of the Word is too hard. Other times, they have said that the Bible was either too old-fashioned or for another time and culture. Regardless the reason, they refused the authority of Scripture over their lives and we have witnessed that it does not end well.

This is an opportunity to reaffirm in our own minds the authority of the Bible and to recognize the blessings that follow obedience to the divine will of God. This is a chance to garner knowledge so that we might speak wisely into another’s life, or into our own.

As Paul reminded and encouraged Timothy, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” What a blessing that we can encourage others in like manner.

Join us on Friday, March 16 for, with The God Who Speaks showings at 1 PM and 7 PM at 203 E. Main Street in Fremont (American Decency building) to be encouraged and strengthened in your faith. Invite your pastor and your church. As iron sharpens iron so must we sharpen one another. I hope to see you all there.

***** Don’t miss out on this debate for Michigan’s next governor! *****

Sat, March 3 – gubernatorial debate in downtown Detroit – "People's Governor Candidate Forum" – 1-3pm, at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 2080 W. Grand Blvd, Detroit

We pray for truth to be revealed about every candidate in the debate: Al-Sayed (D), Whitmer (D), Cobbs (D) and Colbeck (R). We pray for God's standards to be raised up so that there is clarity for what is good, right, noble and pure versus what is not. We pray for safety for all, for protection for all, and for moderators to be fair and effective for God's purposes. May all who are in attendance and watching on TV be moved to turn to God and vote for the ways of God in our state government. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, in Michigan as it is in heaven!

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED BY END OF DAY FEB 26 TO ATTEND THIS DEBATE:  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-peoples-governor-forum-transforming-michigans-future-tickets-39933949518

***** Join the nation in prayer! ***

Why is the church joining in prayer across the nation? The state of California has enacted legislation forcing pro-life Pregnancy Resource Centers to promote abortion. The case is going to the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) and will be heard on March 20.  We have been encouraged (and are encouraging you) to join with hundreds of thousands of Christians across the nation as we pray for God’s intervention. This 24-hour prayer vigil will take place from 9:00 AM March 9th – 9:00 AM March 10th at Insight Pregnancy Services (formerly known as Alpha Family Center) in Newaygo.

We urge you to be involved. Take an hour to pray for this important Supreme Court decision. Go to Prayer4Life.com to learn more about the case or to sign up for a 1-hour time slot to pray.
