Two little words have changed and will continue to change history as we know it. Those two words are “but God.”
There was nothing…BUT GOD…spoke and created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1) Israel was weak and enslaved by mighty Egypt…BUT GOD…brought them out of Egypt with a mighty hand, making them a great and free nation. (Exodus1-15) Israel had no strength as several nations came against King Jehoshaphat…BUT GOD…fought for them and Israel spent three days collecting all the spoils of war. (2 Chronicles 20) Daniel was to be supper for a bunch of hungry lions…BUT GOD…shut their mouths and brought Daniel out alive. (Daniel 6) Three Hebrew youths were to be burned alive…BUT GOD…brought them out with neither a singe nor smell of smoke upon them. (Daniel 3) Lazarus was dead and stinky…BUT GOD…said, “Lazarus, come forth,” and he walked out of the grave. (John 11) Those of us who are Christians and were once dead in our sins, we were children of disobedience…BUT GOD…showed great mercy and love toward us, making us alive and ready for the coming of Jesus. (Ephesians 2)
America’s own history is full of “BUT GOD” moments if we would only look for them. Many times we faced drought, desperation in battle, and a host of other things; we came to God with prayer and humiliation…BUT GOD…saw fit to have mercy upon us and send the rain, turn the tide, or met whatever other need we had. By all the polls and most people’s imagination Hillary Clinton would take office as the 45th president of the United States of America…BUT GOD…brought a reprieve to this country under President Donald Trump. By no means is he a perfect man, but God has used him to restore some semblance of law and order to this nation which was on a path of no return.
Why this Biblical history lesson? Because we need to realize that even though we may become educated on the issues; even if we inform and stir others to action; “except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it.”
The FBI in Michigan (and other states) has been hosting BRIDGES (Building Respect in Diverse Groups to Enhance Sensitivity) meetings in which Islam is made to seem benign and a venue to disseminate misinformation about this political/religious system. One meeting was described in this way: “…almost the entire hour-and-a-half meeting was spent focusing on Islamic religious and cultural practices and trying to debunk any derogatory information police officers may have received about Islamic ideology.”
The OIC (Organization for Islamic Cooperation) adopted its 10-year Strategic Action Plan to Overcome Islamophobia in 2005, calling for nations to pass new laws including deterrent punishments for those guilty of Islamophobia.
Even the creation of the term “Islamophobia,” the scrubbing of FBI training manuals, the regular conclusion that murder accompanied by the statement “Allahu Akbar” still doesn’t give answer to motive, plus numerous other “paving stones” make up this winding path through Michigan for Shariah law to walk on and find a place to call home. It’s a path that creates a false sense of security and peace, a path that needs to be torn up rather than built on.
Too few recognizethis path that’s being unleashed in and throughout Michigan for what it is. It leads to a lack of resistance from Christians, the church, law enforcement, city officials, our schools, and our governor.
Unless we experience another “BUT God” moment, Michigan and this nation raised up by God are in a lot of trouble. That means its citizens are in trouble. That means we must come to a point of repentance and prayer that God might move with a mighty hand.
With these things in mind, DO COME to our conference this Friday, July 20 at 7 PM at the Prince Conference Center (1800 East Beltline SE Grand Rapids, MI 49546). Register now! Bring others with you; bring young adults with you! Learn together, talk about it together, then go out and share with others together.Let people know about these dangers that threaten our nation and the state of Michigan.
Not only learn, but pray too. Remember, “except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it.” Yes, God is sovereign; but we have a responsibility too. Ultimately, we warn and exhort for the glory of God, for He is worthy. The peace which we hope for is a side benefit.
We urge you, register today.Come and learn, leave and educate, gather and pray.
