Planned Parenthood: Defund or Defend?

This Saturday—February 11, 2017—join other pro-lifers who hope to encourage GOP leaders to act on their promises to defund this taxpayer funded murder mill. According toALL—American  Life League—“Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion chain, killing over 300,000 babies each year. Nearly half of its billion dollar budget comes from our tax dollars.” Also according to ALL, as of February 3^rd, at least one out of every four Planned Parenthood clinics in America will have a protest outside its doors on February 11^th.

That means that at least 25% of Planned Parenthood “clinics” will have a voice of truth outside its doors. This is meant to be a time for prayer and peaceful protest on behalf of the bearer of the image God within the womb and for the sake of those bearers of the image God on both ends of the scalpel. Show a strong message to the 115^th Congress that we don’t want our taxes to support the murder of our young by coming out this Saturday. This is a stand against the culture of death that we have for too long embraced as a nation. We want LIGHT; we want LIFE! We defend life, in part, by defunding Planned Parenthood.

These Defund Planned Parenthood rallies have drawn a lot of controversy and many pro-choice people are gathering in protest to defend Planned Parenthood. The pushback has been so large, many have thought the original purpose of February 11^th was to support, rather than defund, Planned Parenthood.

That being the case, one might expect to find a lot of confrontation and tension at these rallies; but Planned Parenthood has asked their defenders to not protest in front of their “clinics” for the sake of their patients. According to Julie Lynn, a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood of Illinois, “While the counter-protesters might have the best intentions, it might not always come across that way to the patient. It might be very confusing and almost frightening to walk into a clinic through large groups of people.”

Defunding or Defending—people are passionate about life and death. Make a strong, passionate showing for life by joining a Defund Planned Parenthood rally near you. Encourage your friends to join you and have conversations about life as you go to lunch and other times in the public square.
