When we think of America's Christian heritage, there is no greater evidence than the history of the National Day of Prayer.
Going back to a proclamation by the Continental Congress in 1775, the federal government has recommended and recognized the need for the nation to unite in prayer at certain times throughout the nation's history. And, in 1952, a bill was passed stating that the President of the United States was to set aside one day every year for the nation to pray together. In 1988, the National Day of Prayer was fixed on the first Thursday of May, every year.
That, of course, brings us to this upcoming National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 4.
We hope that you can join us and thousands of Christians around the country as we unite in prayer and supplication to our God, that He would revive His church in America.
Christ is, and always has been, the last and only hope for our crumbling culture. Thursday, May 4 gives us an opportunity, together, to humble ourselves, repent for our individual and national sins, and pray that God would move to once again turn our country towards Himself.
American Decency is excited to host our community's NDP event at noon at the Veterans Memorial Park in Fremont. Curtis Bowers, the renowned creator of the movies, "Agenda: Grinding America Down," and "Agenda 2: Masters of Deceit," will be our speaker and Rev. Ron Workman will lead the time of prayer, with music provided by the Bowers family.
We hope you can join us!
