It’s bound to be cold Friday night; come on over to the American Decency Association and warm your heart with the movie WOODLAWN. This movie takes place in Birmingham, Alabama in 1973 amidst the heat of racial tension. The only thing to put out this fire of hatred was the hotter fire of a spiritual awakening, a revival as it were, that captures the hearts of the Woodlawn High School Football team.
This true story will grip you with the healing of people and of a city; it will draw you in as you see real people changed by love and by a devotion to Jesus Christ. You may recognize these same and similar issues around you and around our nation today. It’s our hope that you will leave here acknowledging that the answer then is the same answer that is needed today- the only true answer for all the needs and troubles of all time. That answer is Jesus Christ.
Watch as they turn from chaos to Christ, from hatred to Him who created them, from just football to Jesus. Watch what happened then and know that through God’s answer to fervent prayer, it can happen today.
Come join us for our free movie night this Friday, January 15th, at 203 E. Main Street in Fremont MI at 1:00 or 7:00 pm. Expect to be entertained, encouraged, moved, and to take a passion for revival back home with you. It’s not just a movie; it’s a true story. It’s our need of today.
One reviewer stated: “Woodlawn” is the best sports movie I’ve ever seen, although that label really doesn’t do it justice. That’s because it’s simply a great movie – even without the sports – and it’s among the most inspiring and uplifting films I’ve watched.
