Standing against tyranny – and with Governor McCrory

By: American Decency Staff

We’re all aware of the government’s tyrannical overreach into our personal and social lives, forcing agendas upon us without the will or consent of the people.  It’s almost beyond belief though; who would ever imagine that a government “of the people, for the people, and by the people” would reach into our bathrooms!  Who could believe that a government that is put in place to protect our rights would violate our right to privacy and put our mothers, wives, and daughters in danger of sexual predators disguised in women’s clothing?

Such a federal government that has outgrown its constitutional boundaries, trespassing upon a state’s sovereignty, and ignoring the rights of its people, is a monstrous thing which has grown out of proportion and requires a strong hand to prune it back. We need our leaders to stand strong regardless of the illegal and vicious threats brought upon them and their state’s citizenry – leaders such as North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank North Carolina’s Governor Pat McCrory for standing firm and caring for his female constituents as well as his moral boldness which will give good ground for other governors to stand upon.

Call and thank him for his virtuous stand; encourage him to continue to hold his ground regardless of the pressures which may mount against him.  Call 919-814-2000 to show gratitude and to let him know you will stand with him in this decision. Pray for him as well as those who are coming against him; this is as much spiritual warfare as it is “legal” warfare.

In case you are unaware of the brouhaha, President Obama is striving to bully those who aren’t falling in line with the LGBTQ agenda – do so or the full force of the federal government will be used to browbeat them/us into submission.

In recent months, the North Carolina legislature passed a common sense law stating that people must use the restroom/locker room that corresponded with the sex designated on their birth certificate.  The law, H.B. 2, applies only to government entities such as government buildings, public schools and universities.  Private businesses have the freedom to set their own bathroom policies.  The purpose of this law is to protect the safety and privacy of women and girls who shouldn’t be forced against their will to share restrooms and locker rooms with men.

Yet the Obama administration claims such a law is “discrimination” against those who identify as “transgender.”  The basis for that absurd claim?  The 1964 Civil Rights Act which doesn’t even mention sexual orientation or gender identity!  But following the law is meaningless to a President who is trying to ram his agenda down the throats of the American people.  And so an example must be made of North Carolina – lest any other state try to enact similar laws to protect their women and girls.  Therefore the Obama administration has unilaterally declared that all federal funding will be withheld from North Carolina and the Department of Justice sent a threatening letter demanding the law not be enacted.  The DOJ gave Governor McCrory a mere three days to respond to the threat and respond he did! Gov. McCrory issued his own legal action – filing a lawsuit against the Obama administration for their “baseless and blatant overreach.”

As Gov. McCrory stated:  “The Obama administration is bypassing Congress by attempting to rewrite the law and set restroom policies for public and private employers across the country, not just North Carolina. This is now a national issue that applies to every state …They are now telling every government agency and every company that employs more than 15 people that men should be allowed to use a women's locker room, restroom, or shower facility.”

We live in such a day where too few are willing to take a hard stand; too many people don’t care enough to get involved as our nation continues to drift out into a sea of senselessness.

The tide is ever going out and taking with it our goodness and strength as a nation.  Sin and immorality is crashing against our shores and eroding the moral basis on which we stand. It’s washing out the sands of righteousness upon which we once stood.  It’s time to build a breakwater, protecting our rights to decency, protecting our girls and women, and protecting our Constitutional rights by limiting the government’s overreach into our private lives. It’s time to build a breakwater of prayer that will be raised to the Throne of Grace to seek help in this time of need.  It’s more than just about bathrooms and our moral compass; it’s not just about an overstepping federal government; it’s about humbling ourselves in prayer, repenting from our wrong and seeking the face of God.

May God help us continue to stand for what is right.  But we ought not to expect God to do for us what we refuse to do for ourselves.  We must always trust in Him alone, but he expects His people to follow after Him.  When we refuse to walk in God’s ways we are, in effect, forsaking Him. Isaiah 1:4 states: “Ah, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the LORD, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they are utterly estranged.

Sounds a little like this once great country, doesn’t it?

The previous verses in the first chapter of Isaiah show that when men follow after sin rather than after God, they lose their sensibilities.  It brings confusion.  Putting it bluntly, God made male and female, period; it shouldn’t be that hard to figure out which restroom to use.

Show your support for Governor Pat McCrory; call him (919-814-2000) and pray for him.

Call your own congressmen and encourage them to stand for sensibility and rightness.  Tell them to protect our mothers, wives, and daughters.

Let’s start reclaiming surrendered ground; let’s start with our bathrooms.
