Likeminded building up – coming up

By: American Decency Staff

Join with us at the Shack!   Read, pray and sign up!  Do you sense this is for you?  You won’t be disappointed.  Register today!

As God has moved in my life over these years, one of the things that He has shown me has been the importance of rich fellowship with like-minded believers.

I don’t know about you, but I know that I need God each and every day and every moment of the day.  Especially because I fall short of the Glory of God and need His Spirit working, moving, reminding throughout my days.

I have been blessed to have that along the way.  As it has been a rich blessing in my life, I like to do what I can do spread that blessing with others!   As the old song goes “Once they’ve experienced it, they want to pass it on.”

As American Family Association’s first named state director, I had that opportunity many times, as Jan and I traveled to Tupelo, MS, to be a part of  learning, sharing, friendship – and even eating catfish J with AFA’s Founder Don Wildmon at a local nearby restaurant in Tupelo.  How I cherish those times of singing and sharing of the deep things of the Lord.

And you know what else?  We paid nothing to be a part of it other than the cost of travel and overnight expense and food.  We came away with more of a sense of God, His working power, His leading and the making of, in many cases,  life-long friends.

Those who took advantage of the opportunity returned over and over again heading out to Tupelo, Mississippi for a time with our dear friends and with the AFA team.

So here we are ADA extending a warm invitation to you, right here and right now, for a time to share in the love, truth, fellowship, praise and worship, warm hospitality and spiritual encouragement with like-minded believers as we recognize our need for such a time of renewal, refreshment, and encouragement!

And to help us at this spiritual event (June 3-5) are some of our very special friends coming all the way from Tupelo, MS – several from the AFA team!

These brothers ministering to us are warriors.  We aren’t coming to hide our heads in the sand but rather to look up and PRAISE OUR GOD AND KING!

Sure we’ll be talking about the battles and the political landscape, but our weekend theme is the mighty theme of “The Pursuit of Holiness!”

If that isn’t a relevant theme for today or any day, then I don’t know what is!

Here are a few things to note about this upcoming weekend (June 3-5).

1.    There is no cost for the conference.  NO COST

2.    If you spend the nights there are the overnight costs which covers all of your meals.  See
Otherwise, come and go as you like and if you want to stay and eat but not sleep overnight, call in and order your meal(s) with the Shack.

3.    Our hearts will be filled with worship and joy as we will be ministered to ably and spiritually by two Spirit-filled men of God, who love ministering together, Buddy Smith (gifted Southern Gospel singer, second in command at AFA, former pastor – you’ve heard him regularly on American Family Radio) and Bob Azkoul (gifted pianist, music director, tour guide, etc.)

4.    There will be free time on Saturday afternoon to relax, enjoy the grounds.

5.    Saturday night will conclude with a time worshipping together in song and prayer.

6.    Sunday morning after breakfast (weather permitting) we will complete our weekend time together with an outdoor worship service ably led by Rev. Ken Smith who heads the Biblical Counseling Center in Jenison, MI.

Some of you receiving this live within easy driving distance of The Shack.  If you are able, love the Lord, could benefit from a time with genuine people seeking  a time of spiritual refreshment, I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t come!

For those who live several hours away.  Hmmm.  Jan and I drove 16 hours to get to Tupelo, MS many, many times.  Not once were we ever sorry.

One sad point to make accompanied by a prayer request.   Donald E. Wildmon, founder and former President of AFA and American Family Radio called me a couple of weeks ago with disappointment in his voice.  His health has been in decline very recently.  He said he and Lynda Wildmon would not be able to come.  I AM STILL HOLDING OUT HOPE THAT HE WILL GET A QUICK HEALING.

As you look at the information link above and here  I have kept his name on the schedule.  Please pray with us and please pray that those who get a sense of God’s nudging on coming to this will not ignore God’s nudge.

Let me urge thee, then, to make use of thy God. Make use of him in prayer. Go to him often, because he is thy God. O, wilt thou fail to use so great a privilege? Fly to him, tell him all thy wants. Use him constantly by faith at all times. If some dark providence has beclouded thee, use thy God as a "sun;" if some strong enemy has beset thee, find in Jehovah a "shield," for he is a sun and shield to his people. If thou hast lost thy way in the mazes of life, use him as a "guide," for he will direct thee. Whatever thou art, and wherever thou art, remember God is just what thou wantest, and just where thou wantest, and that he can do all thou wantest. [C.H. Spurgeon, Morning by Morning]

In addition, we at American Decency couldn’t take a stand without your stand with us and prayers.  One friend of this ministry understands that and very recently offered a match challenge to help us raise the funds needed for ongoing ministry.

1. The anonymous donor will match up to $5,000.  We have received 42% of the  funds at this writing!
2.  They have pledged to match any gift, whether the person is a regular donor or has never given to American Decency before.
3.  The funds must be received between March 30 through May 15.
4. Make sure you designate your gift as MATCH CHALLENGE.

Will you stand with us today with a gift of any amount?  Each dollar will be doubled and will strengthen us for the fight!
