The Western Mind – unable to handle absolutes?

I find myself regularly trying to check myself with Scripture in my time with the Lord in prayer and devotions.  Also, there are people God uses to sharpen me –  my wife of course, as well as my staff and other individuals.

One such person is Stephen C. Coughlin commenting upon huge deficits in our ability to counter Islamic subversion and the destruction of America in an article dated August 14. 

Coughlin writes: 

For the postmodern Western mind, because there are no facts, there is no truth, and everything is a matter of interpretation. The postmodern Western mind, especially the bureaucratic and academic mind, can no longer handle absolutes.

The other side knows this and relentlessly constructs narratives to exploit it. After a period of programmed repetition, the “many interpretations” narrative echoes the postmodern dogma that “everything is a matter of interpretation” by simply repeating the mantra “Islam allows many interpretations.” Just saying the word “interpretation” can cause many readers to read right over what is actually being said.

My comment:   Most people won't even read through a quote like this.  For most of us, it is difficult to understand this brand of warfare (that’s why the enemy cunningly utilizes such practices – confuse and deceive), but make no mistake it is spiritual warfare.  It is a warfare, in part,  that uses words and names that most can’t relate to or identify with.  The enemy knows most will give in and give up to the designed confusion. 

Coughlin comes to the end of his paper (Exploiting Ignorance in the Post Subversion Phase) –with this word of warning:  As it stands, America is fighting the counterterror war according to narratives that declare actual fact-based threat analysis unconstitutional on religious grounds yet allow imams abroad to serve as the arbiters of our counter-ideology campaigns based on language requirements and legal doctrines that are not our own.  

My comment:  Our enemy has purged experts with integrity (there still are some remaining – we pray)  from identifying lslamists as terrorists on the grounds  that it would, they claim, violate the First Amendment for American analysts to analyze and counter ISIS – (Obama calls them ISIL) because of the constitutional separation of church and state. U.S. officials are prohibited from engaging in debates about Islam, and as a result will need to rely on partners in the Muslim world for this part of the ideological struggle. [I would add corrupt, degraded policy – outsourcing to the Muslim world – our enemy)
