The joy of the Lord is our strength! I’m thankful that I can say that with all sincerity.
By the grace of God, I can even say that in the midst of trials and tribulations. The needs we see around us are many: major health concerns – for both young and old alike, financial difficulties, sin issues, public policy issues and other concerning things that affect each of us one way or another.
As the culture disintegrates around us, the need for salt-and-light ministry only increases.
Yet, as with many ministries, we’re coming off a season where giving is down. As the summer ends, we find ourselves weakened financially – while the need for this ministry to stand strong has never been greater. We have never sent hyped up appeal letters. But, we do write when we have faced the possibilities of a serious short-fall. This is one of those times.
Nonetheless, this organization came into being and has been kept by God’s grace through His Spirit and by the generous gifts of His people since our inception in 1988.
Why have people supported us in the past and why do they support us now? Here are a few recent comments:
We can hardly recognize our own country anymore – and so much of it is due to America losing its moral compass which ultimately means we’ve turned our national back on God. Thank you for being one who stands firm and grounded.
With our love and prayers

We continue to agree with everything you write about the slippery slide backwards of our country. How long will God tolerate it? [We] are getting older and afflicted with various pains, but we still want to support you. It is so sad to see even the church is compromising! Keep up your good work, and may God bless you all at ADA!

Thank you for your letter and personal note. The thoughts you express are mine exactly. Things are even worse now than the day you wrote (June 3). Every day there are evil and frightening developments. Except we know who is in control, regardless, and that gives us the strength and courage we need to remain “the light in these dark days’, doesn’t it.
Warmest regards,
B.L.
I can relate to your letter a lot. Yes, we would like to give up and quit. (Satan would gloat and be happy. But his heyday will end, he will be defeated.) But, we will not give up, Jesus will rule and reign. In the meantime we will continue to lift up His name and praise Him. No, we don’t want to face persecution, but if we want to reign with Him, we must suffer for Him. Keep up your “tiring” efforts that you do untiringly for the lost people. God give you His strength, His power, His fortitude.
H.&T. L.
I believe we will need God’s strength, power, and fortitude like never before. What we are now seeing and what we can expect to face in the months and years to come will dwarf anything that we have faced in the past.
This past Saturday at ADA’s quarterly board of directors meeting, we spent time discussing the rapidly changing culture. Victories, it seems, will be few and far between. Yet, as one of our board members stated, the ultimate victory comes to those who persevere to the end.
Our resolve is fixed. God raised up this ministry to be a faithful beacon of light to the societal-destroying issues of our day and by His grace we will remain steadfast.
A number of people have told us “We wouldn’t have known this was going on without your newsletter.” Our “Decency Minute” radio commentary airs daily on nearly 200 radio stations via American Family Radio bringing a challenging message nationwide throughout the week. And our regular conferences have been called “life-changing”– bringing fresh truth, sincerity, encouragement, and exhortation.
In all we do we strive to speak to the issues of the day – whether its opposing “Fifty Shades of Grey” in our local theater or responding to a request to speak along with other national leaders on the steps of the Supreme Court on the day before the Supreme Court heard oral arguments regarding Obergefell vs. Hodges.
Case in point: We are just now announcing a conference (Fri-Sat. October 16-17) on persecution here at our ministry headquarters entitled: “Rising Tide: Persecution in America.” It will feature four area pastors preaching/teaching – discussing the looming threats of persecution; sending of the sheep into the midst of the wolves; resilient living in a culture of persecution; the imperative of the Gospel. It will be taped for distribution via CD and/or DVD.
In closing, we are under no illusions as to our vulnerability, our weakness, our fragility in a society that is growing increasingly hostile to Christians and to a Christian ministry that desires to live and serve Jesus and His people come what may.
Yet that is what we will continue to do, as God provides. As you are able, will you stand with us? Your prayers and support are needed now more than ever.
